NewsCore - The National Football League is investigating the New York Jets over players' treatment of a female reporter at a practice session, USA Today reported Sunday.
Ines Sainz of Mexico's TV Azteca was at Jets practice Saturday doing a story on quarterback Mark Sanchez and it is alleged one coach and various players tried to run at her and throw balls at her during a passing drill.
Players also allegedly made catcalls and hooting in the locker room towards her after practice.
"I die of embarrassment!" Sainz wrote in Spanish on her Twitter account. "I am in the locker room of the Jets waiting for Mark Sanchez while trying not to look to anywhere!"
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Sunday: "When we first heard of it, we immediately started the process of looking into it.
"It's troubling. We've had contact with the team multiple times and are moving very aggressively to establish the facts."
A Jets statement said the team was working with the league "to gather the facts and take any appropriate steps necessary to maintain a respectful environment for the media."
