Ok here's the spill... I do program books for youth football and high schools. My football organization uses this book as a staple for our program and as it's bread winner to raise money for the season. Another local youth program was so amazed by our book and in awe of it, that they had questions about puttin one together for their program this season. They were heavily interested in knowing how much we charge for ads... how we do it and if I could do theirs. To make a long story short, the person I was talking to decided to do the book on their own, after learning enough about it. Not a problem to me... but they tryin to bite our ideas. The worst of it is that on their samples on their website.. they're using my particular design influence and copying some of my pages because they're using a copy of my book to lay their own out. I can imagine they'll try to steal my cover design style as well.

Basically stealing my shit. Shit I make a stink or not? Threaten legal action... ?

If I did their design and layout, that's $2000-$2500 in my pocket. So i take this situation serious.

Well as I see it, its your work. Even if they did similar style or if they did use it, i havent clicked your links yet, they should at least give you credit or asked you for your consent. Remember its all for the kids to bring in monetary funds to their respected leagues. Bring this to their attention and something positive will come out of it....

it's pretty much resolved. They're gonna change it up. They said they enjoyed my book so much they tried to copy it as much as they could.

They're now asking for a bid on the printing of the book.
