not a jay-z fan at all,but have always liked to check out all the different versions of this album to see how different people would handle the production. didnt get into the whole thing until i heard 9th's version and it caught my interest and started to check out other versions. just brought it up cause was bumpin the "silver album" today which is jay-z over RJD2 beats. its nothing special, all recycled beats but they used one of my fav RJD2 beats of all time, the beat from soul position "right place wrong time"

another probably lesser known version is the white album that the kno did....one of my favorite versions.

so just curious which ones you like and if anybody had a list of some i have maybe not heard so i can check them out...wish they would do this with more albums...its a shame this idea had to be wasted on such a lackluster album

personally i liked the one the dj lt dan made by blending classic beats such as ice cubes "it was a good day" (moment of clarity) jeru's "come clean" (dust your shoulders off) and blackmoon's "how many emcees?" (lucifer). i think this was one of the better blending attempts ive ever heard...most cats dont have a good ear for blending beats with accapellas so i was hella skeptical when i first heard he made a remix album...there were a few fuck ups but overall dj lt dan ripped it

it says fuck the mainstream under your name but yet u post a thread about JAY Z... are u stupid or are u stupid? pick one plz
these versions of the album werent released into the mainstream, they are underground releases from underground producers...they stole jay-z's verses and made an album out of it,if anything thats shittin on the mainstream.

i am as underground as it gets, dont think i need to prove that anymore on this site, everybody pretty much knows me for that...i dont see you posting in the 1,000 other threads about underground artists i made. so just shut up with you idiotic wisecracks based what you seen on one occasion.

Thats the thing that I don't get...why should anyone have to pick one...I like anything that sounds good to me...

I hate how people feel like they have to either be underground OR mainstream...

IMO there is great music as well as shitty music coming equally from both sides...

last time i checked it didnt say fuck the mainstream music industry...its as a whole, being an individual and not following others,it goes beyond jay-z albums
