I was at the guitar center today.... and played with the machine for about an hour....... I really liked it...... I never used a fantom but the sounds sounded nice considering im using the clasic motif...... thought id share....

There sweet instruments Dawg. Personally I found there's some ReFills for Reason that have a lot of the classic Fantom sounds and for a lot cheaper if your cool with software. Sure is a lot easier carrying a USB with my 4GB ReFill on it than a "HUGE" keyboard to the studio or other producers house. Of course I still love my hardware no doubt about that lol.

yea i actually think reason is shitting on everything period when it comes to producing. although that is because its so expandable, simple and u can use it with almost any other tool you have.

^ Exactly Dawg. I have just about every classic synth out there for my system using Reason lol. 99% of the people can't tell a difference the 1% that can is when they come to my studio and see what I use lol. "Beautiful Software" not to mention there's so much stuff you can do with it like taking 3 classic Moog sounds and using panning and effects in the combinator to make a "Fat Ass" bassline/lead sound. Awwww the world of Reason lol.

Reason

Reason is good, I would rather not have to carry around a heavy ass keybaord but instead a very nice keyboard controller for my tracks. I can make beats anywhere I go with the Laptop and Axiom 25.

The Fantom does have good sounds..

Yea..... I really dont move much everything stays in one place.... I cant carry a laptop studio monitors midi interface and a midi controller........ thats to much...... I would actually carry around 1 keyboard and some monitors if i needed to be mobile......

Laptop, Headphones, and a keyboard controller I can fit all in one bag and have thousands of sounds. For me priceless.

reading this thread you'd think that everyone in here was in a travelling band or something. where are you guys going, away from your home, that you need to have a full production set up? bringing a keyboard to a studio session is not a big deal at all. get a gig bag or flight case and you'll be fine.

Thats what im sayin..... i dont think its that big of deal to take a keyboard with you....

i walked out of guitar center with the g6, a nice bag and cables for 2450. saved about 350 after taxes and everything. i think musicians friend has it for 2595.
