I've been to three of them...never payed a dime...the security working the side doors with the CSC event staff hats and jackets are usually cats from various city college sports teams who will let you in...sometimes they may ask for a few dollars though...just go up to a door, and knock on it...
It is pretty off the hook inside, girls will be bossin fools right in the middle of the floor, you can tell, because everyone with a camera will be runnin up to them and filming it...don't do shit you don't want people to see in there, because there are mad cameras around...but it is a tight place to be off some shit and drunk, you will see some off the wall shit.
