Los Angeles police said an exotic nightclub dancer was set on fire Thursday and suffered with burns across over 60 percent of her body.

The crime, which occurred at about 1:30 a.m., happened outside the Babes & Beer nightclub at 18454 Oxnard St., said Los Angeles police Deputy Chief Michel Moore.

According to officials, the 27-year-old woman was summoned outside the nightclub "to meet with two acquaintances," and was then doused with some kind of flammable liquid and set on fire. She managed to get back inside the bar for help.

Moore said, "these are two individuals that, in a very violent manner, attack this young woman with no ... provocation."

He added, "there's really no justification for this."

The suspects took off in a gold-metallic newer-model four-door sedan.

The victim, who is in critical condition, has two young children, Moore said. Her name was not released.

Detectives released the names and photos of the wanted man and woman, identified as Nathaniel Petrillo, 22, and 27-year-old Rianne Theriault-Odom.

What prompted the attack was not immediately disclosed. The woman involved in the attack is reported to have worked at the bar.

Moore said witness statements helped to identify the suspects.

Pair Arrested In Burning Of L.A Exotic Dancer

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY (AP) ―

Two people have been arrested for allegedly dousing an exotic dancer with a flammable liquid and setting her on fire outside a Los Angeles club.

Police say Rianne Theriault-Odom and Nathaniel Petrillo were arrested Monday at a hotel in the San Fernando Valley in a joint operation between police and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Deputy Chief Charlie Beck says the dancer, Roberta Busby, remains in critical condition at Grossman Burn Center after being attacked Thursday outside the Babes & Beer club in the Tarzana area of Los Angeles.

The hospital's director of burn services says Busby underwent the first of several skin grafts and will have another this week, provided she remains stable.

VAN NUYS -- A 28-year-old Tarzana woman was found guilty Thursday in the brutal attack on an exotic dancer who was doused with gasoline and set on fire outside a Tarzana nightclub.

Rianne Theriault-Odomfound was convicted of aggravated mayhem and torture but not guilty of attempted murder for the attack which took place at 2 a.m. outside the Babes N'Beer bikini bar on February 5, 2009.

The victim, Roberta Dos Santos Busby, sat in the Van Nuys courtroom quietly listening as the verdict was read.

Busby suffered second and third degree burns over 40 percent of her body. She was hospitalized for five months and had thirty skin grafts. She says she still has difficulty eating and can't open her mouth wide enough to eat a sandwich.

Theriault-Odomfound testified that Busby punched her but she did not attack her. She also testified that someone else doused Busby with the flammable liquid. She told jurors Busby disrespected her that night and made fun of the stage name "Jen" Theriault-Odom had picked.

She admitted to being very drunk on the night of the attack. She told jurors she drank two double shots of Russian vodka, half a fifth of Patron tequila and five shots of Hennessy cognac.

Initially, police arrested a former DJ at the club, Nathaniel Marquis Petrillo, 23, of Reseda for setting Busby on fire. But prosecutors later said they did not have sufficient evidence to charge him.

Theriault-Odomfound faces a possible life sentence for the crimes. Sentencing is set for next month.

Prosecutor Marcus Musante was pleased by the verdict.

"I'm satisfied that the jury listened to all the evidence and obviously deliberated thoroughly and held the defendant accountable," said assistant district attorney Marcus Musante, with the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office. "All you can ask for is that justice be carried out."
