I wanted poongko to take it. Sucks but fuudo is smart as hell
Same here..but Fuudo was able to take out a strong field...shit the best field in the world! I goota give it up to him.

This wasnt the finals I thought I would see but it was still a very good EVO overall. I cant wait to see some of the youtube videos. I need to re watch some of the last few fights.

fighting games suck its a bucnh of button smash the same move til you win
Not at all...on a high level fighting games are just about strategy. Knowing when to tag in tag out...monitoring your health meter and of course move and combo execution is the name of the game. You also have to master a character/team and know all there strengths and weakness to be able to set up good match ups.

If you just button smash you might win a few rounds..but go against a really skilled player that knows how to zone and how moves and damage percentage is needed and see what happens. Its just like knowing a map on a FPS game. If you know where to hide and where all the weapons and routes are your gonna win more then loose.

i went to EVO, shit was hype. i wanted Poongko to take it but he got mindfucked after Fuugo beat him in the first game and stopped gassing.

you must be crazy to think button smashing is what the game is about especially in the Street Fighter 4 series. it takes ridiculous amount of skills to execute the combos and absolute knowledge of the game to know when you have the advantage to pull it off and punish the opponent and if not they can do the same. imo, Street Fighter 4 is the closest thing to virtual sports. its like 1 on 1 basketball. you cant really expect that its almost the same top 20 players in the world out of the thousands and thousands of street fighters players got there just by smashing buttons.

the growth of fighting games in a competitive level is growing just like how the xgames did when it first started out.

Have you played AE? comparing AE to Vanilla is just pointless and Ryu has never been top tier.

Nemo switched to Yun too. ...to be honest after playing AE for a while I'm tempted to switch to Yun as well.

LOL any one with half a brain knows fighting games aren't about button mashing. Especially in the last 10 years when you just have to press pause to see your characters move sets.

Your way off the mark with the "ridiculous amount of skill" comment, especially with SF4 which was designed to be execution friendly. However, right on the mark with everything else. Knowing when and how to do something and then putting it into practice is what makes fighting games so fun. It's you against someone else, trying to out think them.

hhhmmm, really wasn't the right thing to move it, seeing as how it has absolutely nothing to do with evo 2011, just one of the most recognizable moments in gaming history.

i forget how much of a gamer mtt is though. :/

Man that would piss me off. Everyone is practicing that shit now that its on the home version of the game. I had a friend of mine almost do that to me the other night. He got all the paries in but didnt get the hyper combo off...but that was still bad enough.

I still havent heard the end of that shit yet lol

yea it's happened to me again since that vid.

I got that guy back though!

BTW I love this match, it's a prime example of all the things that people coming from SFIV say don't exist in 3S. (poking & zoning)
