Yup. At one point I was takin' both Zoloft and Paxil. It worked for a little while, but then I just stopped takin' it. My depression mainly comes from school. I just can't seem to grasp any of the concepts. I'm takin' Algebra and Biology and I'm pretty sure I'm failing both of 'em. They're repeat courses too.

I'm just sick of school altogether. I'm not gettin' anywhere. I go to a community college, which is only supposed to take 2 years. I've been there for 4. I graduated high school in '99. I really don't even see how either course is goin' to help me get a job.

I figure the time that I've wasted in college could've been used learnin' some type of skill/trade.

I was diagnosed with BiPolarism back when I had my son four years ago....For those that don't know, manic depression and bipolarism are one in the same.

My thing was that after I had my son, the post partum depression never ended. I gradually got worse, so I began taking Zoloft. It worked alright, but as a side effect I couldnt get an orgasm (yes....that shit was enough for me to stop taking it lol) Then I took prozac, it worked...so good that I was convinced I was like "cured" and stopped taking it....But I still get depression spells every once and a while....

So as far as depression goes, I feel you girl....hit me on email if you wanna conversate more about it, cuz im one female thatz been there and back...and fuckin back AGAIN ;x

bi polars get high HIGHS and low LOWS.

for clinical depression they give you paxil and others.i'm on paxil.

i finally asked how my medicen works.

for paxil.

it induces seratonin i think thats the chemical that makes you happy when you expierience cool stuff.

and the seratonin collects if your brain is'nt making enough.

for my real illness (schizophrenia)

i take risperdal.

that controls my seratonin and dopamine levels.

without it i can't fall asleep.i don't get relaxed enough and think too much.

so of course i take it.

plus it keeps the delusions, voices and hullucinations away.

(important doctors note)

NEVER STOP TAKING YOUR MEDICEN!! it has to BUILD IN YOUR SYSTEM and REMAIN there!

Damn , everybody here got some problems. Did you know that too much time in front of a computer screen can cause depression? Im serious, check the studies. Maybe theres a connection here, lol.
Also if you smoke weed on the daily, that shit can start getting you depressed... drinking too.
Your diet also has ALOT to do with mood and emotion... eat healthy and youll feel healthy.
And regular exercise has been proven to alieviate the symptoms of clinical depression

Cuzz is on point. Regular exercise has been proven to be more effective than meds for depression. When I was 17-18 I had court ordered "therapy" and they said I was depressed and put me on Zoloft. I never took that shit when I was on the streets tho. when I was locked up later that year they basically forced that shit down my throat, it had no effect at all. So Im not a big fan of meds (I call them mind control pills), but if you been sad for like 2 weeks straight for NO reason then you might want to get some help from some edjumacated folks.

melo trauma is right.they (doctors) tell me that stuff too.

plus i've experienced the whole weed thing.i know people get that way with alchohol too.healthy diet works like not a whole bunch of caffiene that can make you nervous.excercise they've recomended that too.

about mind control.

without meds my mind would be tottally out of wack i been there so take it from me.

being schizo is like being possesed by evil demons.

and thats TRUTH/FACT fuck the bullshit.

it's too easy to say you got a mental problem.if you really did you would'nt down play or fuck around and claim it for sum stupid reason.

you'd be traumatized.

Trooper's definetly right, because the medication synthetically replaces the missing chemical in your brain....and when you go off the meds, you crash....that's why it takes so long for the meds to work, because it has to build itself up.

Depression fuckin sux, especially when you're so bad you dont want to leave the house

this paxil does'nt work as a happy pill it makes seratonin to make you able to enjoy stuff so don't expect to take it and be all happy planet.

that was my problem i thought i could get high offa it.

not that i really wish it would.

now that i understand whut it does i don't mind taking it.

i'll take the slow route.

i still got issues with schizophrenia though it's been 3 years.

:(
