I am all for it. I literally watched my father die from cancer right before my very eyes. For a period of about 2 weeks he was stricken to a hospital bed because my stepmother could no longer provide proper care from their home; it had just gotten to that point. The doctor told us that he had a short time left to live and that dialysis would prolong his life by a couple of weeks to a couple of months, but that he was going to die soon regardless. We were all left to make that decision, but none of were able to. We had the doctor personally tell my father what he told us regarding dialysis. My father refused the treatment and asked to be put to death; "just give me the juice", he said. He was in an extreme amount of pain so extending his life would only ensure him more pain. The doctor told him no, that he "wasn't Dr. Kevorkian", and the best he could do was put him on a morphine drip so that he would feel no pain in his transition; "comfort care" is what they called it. Once they put him on the drip he was completely unaware of anything going on around him, or anyone in the room. After a few days his eyes began to turn white. This lasted for about 10 days before his heart stopped. This was about 8 months ago.
My apologies if that disturbed anyone but for one it was much worse and more elaborate than that and I assure you watching it before your eyes is another thing entirely. But someone tell me, what was the point?
