Here is some brief info followed by an article from today:
Somalia has been without a government since 1991, when President Barre was ousted and the nation was plunged into lawlessness and clan warfare. After several failed bids to restore order, a new peace deal has renewed hopes.
Somalia - where life expectancy is close to 48 years - has some of the world's worst health indicators. A quarter of children die before reaching the age of five. For every 100,000 live births, 1,100 women die. Lack of medical services and the prevalence of female genital mutilation are blamed for the high rates.
There are no reliable figures but it is estimated that about 7 million people live in Somalia. They all speak Somali and are Sunni Muslims. But they are divided along clan lines. The map shows where the four major clans have traditionally dominated. When the civil war began, each clan had its own militia but they then split into sub-clans.

Somali Islamist orders 'holy war'
A Somali Islamist leader has ordered a "holy war" to drive out Ethiopian troops, after they entered the country to protect the weak interim government.
"I am calling on the Somali people to wage a holy war against Ethiopians in Somalia," said Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys of the Union of Islamic Courts.
Ethiopia denies that its forces are in the government's base of Baidoa, but a BBC reporter has seen them patrolling.
The UIC took control of the capital, Mogadishu, last month.
Since then it has consolidated its power over much of southern Somalia.
But Ethiopia is strongly opposed to the Islamists and has repeatedly warned that it will send its army into Somalia if the interim government is attacked.

Now, Osama will release a tape. North Korea will launch more missles(with Iranian officals present....again) After Israel invades Lebanon, Iran will tell the U.S.A and friends to stick the latest proposal up their asses. Missiles will be launched from Iran into Southern Lebanon. And Al Queda will rush the Green Zone in Iraq. Kinda sounds like the very last level on a video game.
