EMU 1212M sound card with Cool Edit Pro?

open your soundcard settings and select the right input then in "cool edit" select the R on the track then hit record... should work

na its not that easy.. first u should tune Patchmix.. CoolEdit uses WDM so u should tune it 2 output WDM.. if ur using AdobeAudition or anything else..it will use ASIO...and oh set the latentcy to a minimum... 2ms is the lowest for Emu1212m... setting patchmix isnt that easy u can hit me up on aim.. if not here's some easy shit

Microphone in preamp, preamp in L input of your card, and go to patchmix set the I/O card to L and send to ASIO in 1/2 Host... a peak meter will also help..

I'm tired of people buying soundcards and a $200 mic and thinking they are ready to record. It's too easy to half ass some shit like that these days and because of it we have too many people making music that shouldn't be made and doesn't need to be made.

If you are gonna do it...get a real signal chain. This guy is proly recording in acid with his EMU soundcard.

Man I got some tight fuckin' gear. I also got a yamaha DGX 505 keyboard to shit is tight. going to a Pioneer 5.1 Digital Surround sound receiver with some KLH 15's.

actually u can make ur mic sound good like that, use plugin's like Bias Sound Soap 2 v2.0 & Antares Mic Modeler v1

A recording is only as good as it's weakest link. Sure you can make things sound better with plugs, but shit is shit. If what you said was true every fucking studio in LA and NY would be running Protools LE, some Antares plugs, and a RODE NT1.

Good is good...bad is bad. If you are making shitty music though it doesn't really matter in the end, cause shit is always gonna end up sounding like shit no matter what it's recorded on.

yeah i'd get some Neve Pre's, SSL Pre's, a couple of Midas pre's, maybe an Amek, a Distressor, a U87, Apogee Ad/DA converters, a Tubetech multiband compressor, and Logic, ProTools w/Digidesign HD , or Nuendo

i would, if i had the money. I'd also spend 100,000 dollars on acoustical design
