i think rappers get hella better growing into older age, I think Kool G Rap is one of the dopest east coast rappers and whats he like 50 years almost?

i didn't realize Em was 38 tho.

almost thirty-eight. he's still got four months to go.

and i loved rakim's skills on 7th sign, though the many samples kinda got on my nerves. not every song has to have mainstream appeal. but whatever. lynch and em are my two favorite rappers right now and both are pushing forty's door down. that aint a thing. maybe if i was fifteen, id be lovin on some solja kid or something, but i grew up on spice 1 and 2nd II none. i grew up on hard lyrics and potent delivery. it's only natural i expect that.

anywhom, album's dope as fuck. too bad his vocals on youtube makes him sound like he's a little kid. the 128k torrent i found didnt sound a lot better. the 320k i later found wasnt that much better after a rip. but come monday, i can put almost famous on full blast through a 500 watt receiver with the sub to back it up.

This guy is ridiculous with words.

He probably spends hours at a time studying words and other words they sound like.

That line about Batman is fucking nuts.

I like this album a lot, though I do skip a couple songs.

Soaked this album real heavily now and not that anybody cares but my opinion still stands. The album is solid! Best Em shit since Marshall Mathers LP....

The shitty accent is gone & he's spittin' like he was during his 1st two albums, just the content is different....but you kinda gotta expect that because his mind is in a difference place and he's older now.

Good to hear some quality Eminem shit; It's been a while.

Not really feeling this CD.

Definitely better than his last 2, but not up to same caliber as his first 3 (4 counting Infinite which I thought was one of his best lyrical offerings)

The production on the CD gets repetitive by the end of the first listen, and by the time I had listened to the CD twice, I was over it. Totally opposite of my feeling on albums 1-3.

Lyrically there are some bright spot but there are also forehead slappers like;

"haters can make like bees with no stingers, and drop dead"

and

"So I solemnly swear to always treat this roof like my daughters and raise it"

and

"Cause I’m raising the bar, I shoot for the moon
But I’m too busy gazing at stars"

(I know those are all on the same song, but that is too much even on a whole album IMO)

Finally, the use of "doodie" is pretty ghey, and hop off Wayne's nuts.

The bright spot is that fucking terrible accent is gone.

Em's the illest lyricst alive. My favorite album of his is "The Slim Shady LP", but this is his BEST one thus far. I just wish he could've sang on more of his hooks. "W.T.P." is the most "Eminem Show" sounding song.

find me an album that doesnt have one throwaway lyric? for every lyric you find like that i can find one that shits on everything in rap now and past time. matter of fact, the one song "almost famous" shits on any rap ALBUM in years. easy. that song alone has so many quotables its sick. nobody anyone has heard of is on that dudes level lyrically.

i agree with you on the production though. a lot of it sounds like a christina aguilera album but the lyrics are top notch.

eminem should let me pick the fuckin beats. im just glad dre and em's stale ass production styles were left off for the most part.

Eminem has biggest sales debut since 2008

(AP) – 3 hours ago

NEW YORK — Eminem's "Recovery" is going quite well. The rapper's CD sold 741,000 in its first week of release, making it the best debut of the year.

The figures were released by Eminem's record label, Interscope, on Tuesday and confirmed by Nielsen SoundScan. It's actually the best album debut since October 2008, when AC/DC's "Black Ice" topped the charts with sales of 784,000.

Eminem released the CD "Relapse" last year, but "Recovery" has gotten much better reviews.

The 37-year-old rapper was named the best-selling artist of the last decade by Billboard.

I hate to make this comparison, but Recovery seems like Eminem's Hell's Winter (that cage album). Both artists "matured" by replacing hardcore, fucked up rhymes with more emo ones, and then they said their previous album was trash. The content on the album just isn't my thing.
