okay, now thousands of children are kidnapped every year in america... can somebody tell me why the hell this particular missing persons case is making nationwide news?? why do i turn on CNN, MSN, and Fox News Channel and keep seeing this being brodcasted?? What is so special about this case??!?!?!?!?

I was wondering the same thing myself, the only conclusion that I can come up with is that she actually got taken out her house...where as most kids are kidnapped off playgrounds, streets etc.

I agree w/ :H:. All missing kids should get such attention, but alas this is not the case. Irregardless, I hope they find her safe, real soon. Just like all those other kids that went missing. Any of U guys remember Michella (sp?) Garret, or Illene Mischalloff? I was ten when they went missing (I'm now 24 1/2), and I still have hope that one day they will be found. Poor little kids.

Nah, the police got the note first. It wasn't a ransom note, and it wasn't from the kidnapper, it was from someone who knew the kidnapper... they faxed it to a third party, who faxed it to the police, who gave it to Mr. Smart.

yea, the girls dead. They won't find her. Hard to say who did it, but the handyman is straight up lying about not picking up that jeep (a garage said he picked up his jeep that was being worked on, after he got back, (with 1000 extra miles on it), he took 2 bags out, took the seat covers off the seats, and took a post hole digger out of the back. Some guy across the street waved him over, and he got in a car and drove off with the stuff. Even though the shop owner 100% stands by that story (He said he likes the guy, and has no reason to lie about it), the Handyman is totally denying it ever happened.

One of the reasons that this case is different than most of the other kidnappings is because its a non-family/friend abduction. These are always the most publicized. Not sure of the exact stats, but around 3-5 % of kidnappings are done by strangers and most of those, the kids are back within 48 hours. So after the first couple of days the media will pick up the story and run with it.

The police and fbi and all that shit are puttin so much people on the case because the pressure of the media and the community...

The media covers it because she is a cute lil rich white girl, and also the circumstances by which she was kidnapped. I see shit on the local news bout kids in the bay gettin kidnapped all the time, but never see them covered on MSNBC and CNN and all that shit.......

Another one in SO-Cal today. I cant remember in recent years there ever being so many stranger abductions. I know of 5 in the last couple of months. Thats why when a child molester is caught they should never be released because of this kind of shit.

ANOTHER girl got kidnapped in OxC... and when they found her ass, channel 2 actually interrupted one of their shows so they can show a press conference in progress with the OxC sherrifs office... can you believe that shit?? they're acting like it was the president who got kidnapped... what the fuck is goin on here??
