first impressions:this is the shit i been waiting for from NY

something that pushes the envelope without being corny thug shit and doesnt sound like its stuck in nineteen motherfucking ninety three , all while still capturing the essence of what makes the NY brand of hip hop great .

havent quite heard the entire album yet but so far it manages to bring what i want to hear from El without being predictable .

caution: these songs do not come with dance moves

there is no will.i.am produced single

there are no jay z guest verses

there are no catch phrases sprinkled throughout

he may or may not beef with somebody after this drops , depending on the 1st week sales

el-p is the worst rapper/producer in the history of underground hip hop music and he is a cancer to the artists he takes under is wing

fantastic damage is quite possibly the worst album i have ever heard in my life. no rhyme scheme,no flow, overdone generic beats,el-p's inability to ride a beat properly, the list goes on... there was not one thing remotely good about that album and that is directly due to el-p's extreme lack of talent.

he gives NY a bad name,he gives underground hip hop a bad name,he gives white rappers a bad name, and even gives his own label a bad name

that more clear?

funcrusher plus was a classic. fantastic damage was another. the cold vein one more. murs blew up huge after he signed to def jux. cage's last album was a really good one. rjd2's deadringer was dope as fuck. i don't know how he can possibly be a cancer to anybody he signs.

Word, El has made some dope beats since Funcrusher, but his raps get wacker and wacker every time I hear them.

I hope the new CoFlow album won't be shit.

all the people you mentioned had little to no el-p production on their albums.

im talkin about people like aesop rock who made classic consecutive classic albums with blockhead on the boards then fell the fuck off when el-p took over. same goes for mr lif. their initial releases on def jux are always better because they only use a hanfdul of his production. as el gets more creative power and starts to produce entire albums is when everything goes downhill. his production isnt meant for an entire album like that. he works better when its a change in pace or something different on an album. then its refreshing. but on beat after another is annoying as fuck. just sounds like a bunch of fuckin noise,no actual "beat" at all

cold vein is the only album i cant argue, shit is classic, vordul and vast's flow blended well with his production
