I'M FEELIN A LOT OF THE UNDERGROUND EAST COAST BEATS. I CAN'T REALLY GET INTO THE LYRICS. I MEAN THEY TIGHT BUT SOME OF IT DON'T MAKE MUCH SENSE TO ME...IT'S LIKE THEY JUST PUT A BUNCH OF WORDS THAT RHYME TOGETHER AND DIDN'T TRIP ON IF IT MEANT ANYTHING..BUT I'M REALLY LIKING SOME OF THE EAST COAST PRODUCTION...I LISTEN TO THE WAKE UP SHOW SOMETIMES ON 106.1 KMEL AND SOME OF THEM UNDERGROUND TRACKS THEY PLAY BE HAVING ME FLOWIN IN MY HEAD SOMETHIN CRAZY. SOMETHIN ABOUT THE REPETITIVE EAST COAST STYLE MAN I LIKE. MY BOY ILL FONS C.NOTE OUT OF NORTH HAYWARD BE PRODUCIN SOME TIGHT EAST COAST SOUNDIN TRACKS...I MIGHT FUCK WITH HIM ON MY NEXT PROJECT FOR A COUPLE TRACKS...BUT YEAH TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION I'M FEELIN SOME OF THAT UNDERGROUND EAST COAST SHIT.

If I had to pick a artist to best represent the east coast it would be N.........A.............S nas. That foo got tight beats and his lyrics make a lot of sense. He is also a very tight battle cat. But my favorite artist from the east is 2pac; Although he swicthed over at the end his song it aint nothing like the old school was a east coast classic.

Homies Pac was always sporting NY gear before he got shoot. He represented the Bay because he lived there for a minute, but he came out of the East coast. Pac even said in a interview "you got to give it up to the Bay because if you dont they wont give it up for you. Thats just how the bay is".

Pac said he was born in NY but lived in baltimore, & then moved to tha Bay & said "I learnd about tha game in tha bay, got my street game from tha bay, no disrispect to tha east but oakland is where i learnd about that thug life...." I think he 1st started rapping in tha bay...he even had a lil group & then got wit digital underground...

As for nas hes aight but to me hes just another Pac bitter wishing he would of been koo with him along with half his damn enemies that act like they were all buddy buddy with him...fake azz muthafukaz....

there are a few out there that catch my ear, but only a couple I would bump on my own time

Big Pun, might be the greatest of all time as far as actual mc'ing goes. Never gets his credit
Mos Def is shamefully slept on

Jadakiss is very good, but the beats on his first album were garbage to me

Fabolous' first album was hard, and great lyrics on there, but again, i wouldn't really listen to that much, there were some nice cuts on there tho. his lazy ass delivery makes it difficult to believe that he does anything he says tho.

Talib Kweli is good, but I don't listen to him at all either

as far as east coast music altogether, I bump old school shit a lot, but most of the new stuff is hella boring to me out here. I steady bump rakim, run dmc, ll cool j etc... the old stuff is coo to me

Nas - It Was Written was coo
any Dead Prez albums/Mixtapes, but "Lets Get Free" is a fuckin classic, production, lyrics, message etc.
Jedi Mind Tricks - Violent By Design, the production & emotion on this album are filthy.
GZA is tight as well.
