I currently have sbc yahoo which is 1.5Mbits per second so my downloads are around 150kbps give or take. My contract expires in febuary. I am currently paying 29.99 a month. I had adelphia high speed cable which was 53.99 a month for 3.0Mbit speeds. I posted a while back how fast i was getting some of you might remember it was around 280k a second downloads. Now i come across earthlink willing to give me up to the same 3.0Mbit a second but for 19.99 for the first 6 months then 40 bucks after that. I am shocked as fuck and am thinking there has to be a catch cause no one else has this deal. Someone if anyone who has earthlink or this package let me know your download speeds. Im lookin for faster than what I have. I already signed up for earthlink just kinda curious.

I believe the 6 months for $19.99 was first offered by Comcast Internet. Earthlink is legit and a good service to have. They received a few awards for customer service and also got props from PCworld.com for overall service.

As for speed, it varies on where you are located.

^^naw I know the speed thing just couldnt belive they oftering the up to the 3.0Mbit for 39.99 when yahoo dsl is 39.99 for 1.5Mbit

and yes I know the break down from 8bytes = 1 bit

so 1.5Mb is the same as 1500 so you take 1500/8 and you get around 187. this would be the download speed you get for me its like 160k a sec since like you said how close you are to the main office. now the 3.0Mbit is 3000 take 3000/8 and you get 375 which when i did have the 3.0 limit i was gettin around 275kbps downloads. but I was payin 53.00 a month. See why im shocked. No one else has this deal. Most make you pay more for this shit.
