Above by Mad Season is a classic CD Jae. You are going to fucking love it.

The Melvins, Mother Love Bone and Mud Honey are two of my favorite bands ever.

Mother Love Bone would have been one of the biggest Grunge bands if Andrew hadn't died IMO. Apple is such a great fucking album.

Tad is extremely under-rated too.

You can find a lot of those groups albums you listed above cheap in the used section at Easy Street Music in Queen Anne just to let you know Jae.

Alright excluding the bands you prob. already know (Nirvana, Alice In Chains, etc) here are some must haves IMO.

Green River - "Rehab Doll/Dry As a Bone" is Green Rivers EP and Full length in one with a few bonus tracks. Lead singer Mark Arm went on to form Mud Honey while Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament went on to become part of Pearl Jam.

Mother Love Bone - "Apple" Mother Love Bone is more or less Pearl Jam with Andrew Wood (R.I.P.) as the lead singer. "Apple" is hands down one of the best grunge albums ever.

Mud Honey - "Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge" is by far their best album. I'd also check out "Piece of Cake" While Mud Honey is one of my favorite bands their songs outside of those two albums are pretty hit and miss. They are really good or really bad IMO. Those two albums are good from front to back.

The Melvins - I don't even know where to begin...as you can see The Melvins have released a ton of work...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melvins_discography
Must haves IMO are..."Gluey Porch Treatments", "Bullhead", "Melvins", "Houdini", and "Stoner Witch"

Screaming Trees - "Sweet Oblivion" and "Buzz Factory" are really good. The rest of their stuff is alright IMO.

Tad - I like all of their work and everything outside of "Inhaler" and "Infrared Riding Hood" is going to be pretty hard to find. So make sure you get those two and download the rest of their stuff.

I just noticed you copied that list from Wikipedia lol.

Fuck Courtney Love by the way...I can't stand that bitch.

Tad - I like all of their work and everything outside of "Inhaler" and "Infrared Riding Hood" is going to be pretty hard to find. So make sure you get those two and download the rest of their stuff.

Damn, now you had me looking through my grunge tapes/CDs section lol. A few bands you might not have heard of that you should check out are...

Seaweed - "Weak" Seaweed were from Tacoma. I don't know how I forgot about them. "Weak" is their best but "Despised" and "Four" are really solid too.

Treepeople - All of their work is really good but "Guilt, Regret, Embarrassment" and "Just Kidding" are their best albums. They are from Boise, Idaho.

Hammerbox - Both "Hammerbox" and "Numb" are very solid albums. They are the only grunge band fronted by a woman lead singer that I like a lot.

They were in the list you had but I forgot to add them to the albums you should get...

Love Battery - "Dayglo" is a classic fucking album IMO. The rest of their stuff isn't so great lol.

Okay...that's enough from me.

My guess would be over 1,250+ albums and about 300 tapes. Actual albums...I collect music. I have quite a bit of Vinyl too but I don't really collect Vinyl except for Vinyl only releases and limited presses, etc. I have been collecting since I was about 12yrs old so that's almost 15yrs. I would guess though that atleast 75% of my albums I buy used. I'd have atleast another 300-400 CD's except a few years back when I lost my job I had to sell some for money.

My four favorite genres of music are Rock, Rap, Oldies and Reggae. I would say half my albums are Rock, a quarter Rap and then the last quarter Oldies/Reggae/Other.

I know a lot of people think it's stupid to buy albums now because you can just burn it but I like actually collecting music. Lots of times I'll burn or download a album and if I like it I actually go and buy it (espically if it's Independent because they can really use the sale.) I have about 250 or so burnt CD's but those are all rare and/or out of print albums and hip hop mixtapes.

I just really love music...I wish I had some musical ability but I don't so I'm just a fan lol.

I used to be a big fan of music....but as is it has gotten saturated...ive tailed off...

i used to buy at LEAST 1 tape a saturday between the ages of 12-15 when i lived in West Seattle and would go down to Easy Street...by the time i was 16....i had over 1000 tapes....not CD's...TAPES....i didnt switch to CD's intil i was about 21...and trying to replace alot of those tapes was a pain in the ballsa cus they were mostly underground rap....

I aint gonna lie...i have ALOT of burnt CD's...but at one time...i OWNED the CD....but i ONLY DL now...and RARELY buy(it has to be a DAMN good album for me to buy these days)....the last album i bought was the OST to Sympathy Of Lady Vengeance....

My collection is mostly rap...cus its from a span of alomt 10 years...and ive slowly faded from rap to everything BUT....

I luv the music i grew up on...thats how you know you are getting old...when you pull out TLC,Big Daddy Kane and Domino...instead of BIg Rich or T-Nutty!!!

I totally feel what you are saying about the over saturation of music...especially in Rap...both mainstream and underground IMO. I mostly listen to Rock and Oldies these days. There are a lot of really good new Rock groups out there though IMO. Not many new comers keep me interested in Rap these days. I used to buy about 1 Rock CD for like every 5 Rap. Now it's like 1 Rap CD for every 20 Rock. The last rap CD I bought was JR Writers album and the next will be the new Planet Asia at some point. I'd say until maybe 5yrs ago I had a whole lot more Rap CDs than Rock.

How much did that soundtrack cost for Sympathy Of Lady Vengeance? I'm sure it was prob. a import and rather expensive. Fuck I payed $22.00 for the DVD of Oldboy.

I do tend to like a lot of the older stuff I grew up on too more than the newer stuff. But there is a lot of new stuff that I like a lot (Rock not Rap.) I'm only a little younger (I'll be 27 in Feb.) than you so I'm sure we grew up on more or less the same stuff.
