Drugs and Love

well basically its like this...this girl i love who i been goin out with for a minute has had a hard life, she used to do hella drugs, mainly cocaine. that was about a year ago when she was into that, i didnt kno her then. shes changed drastically since and seen the error of her ways but still says that if it was free she would do coke, and she has a high interest in drugs, she wants to try LSD. now i dont mean to be all anti-drugs, D.A.R.E on this chick but i cant help the feeling of disgust, and dissapointment, and sadness in my gut hearin her talk about drugs...she doesnt often but i wanted to ask anyone who may kno OR who just want to give THEIR theories on this....why do people like to do hard ass drugs like that? im gunna talk to her of course but the people in this forum share my intelligence level so i deicided to post here....thx for takin ur time to replay

To excape reality. Most of the people I know, including myself when I used to do a lot of drugs was to just get away from life. Everyone struggles through life, and for some people drugs is their way of dealing with those problems. It might not be much of a problem if the person only uses once in a while, but for a lot of people the drugs will only make their lives a lot worse.

Yeah I basically did them to escape reality too. Plus it WAS fun. Im straight with hard drugs now. I don't regret doing the drugs, however I would never tell anyone to do them. In the long run its not even worth it. Especially acid.

I did everything i can think of cept Crack and things involving needles. It was fun, ill do it once in a while cause its fun. LSD was awesome, thats what shes after. The feeling she "knows of". She must hang out with people who do drugs, cuase i dont know anyone who does coke in their room. So they prolly filled her head with enough fun stories about LSD to make her HAVE to do it.

Now I've gone through some shit in my life. But nothing has made/convinced me to do drugs. And like dude said, I'm not tryna be all DARE on anybody, but it just wasn't for me. I always felt like I had better things to spend my money on. Plus, I don't wanna die over some bullshit. I've heard too many stories in my life about people who die from taking this drug or that (even if it's the first time they've done it). And I just thought it would be really stupid to do something that could possibly end my life.
