By a narrow margin, the United States Supreme Court ruled that not only do schools have the legal means to drug test student participants in extra-curricular sporting events...they also have the means to drug test students involved in any "competitive event."

That means school districts can invoke drug testing for the chess team, marching band, national honor society, cheerleading squads, homecoming, student council, and et al.

I disagree with the decision. In my opinion, it's another step toward total invasion of privacy.

I hate the government. I hate all of them. My mom works for the government. If she had to die in order for everyone in the government to die, i would make it a sacrifice. They ruin everything pure about freedom. I'm not even in high school and i still think that that is complete and utter bullshit.

In other words, I use illegal drugs.
Nope, I just don't enjoy watching freedoms taken away one by one. I graduated from high school four years ago, so the individual case has no bearing on me. We're just getting one step closer though, right?

I still can't figure out how their is an outcry about the pledge of allegeance decision while important issues like this go un noticed. This decision is rediculous, next thing you know their just gonna start drug testing at random for anyone goin to shool. I guess the forth ammendment goes out the window when it comes to school...

me and my boy were talking about this earlier...how can pledging allegiance to god be unconstitutional, but drug testing kids is constitutional?...and i have decided that it makes more sense to test the kids that don't participate in extra curricular activities cause the ones participating are at least trying to better themselves at something, and if the "drugs" aren't interfereing, why the fuck does it matter?...this is a civil liberties nightmare
