He's playing the role of the industry. I feel like you gotta have at least one "single" type song to keep somewhat of a buzz going today. It may not be your song, but it's music like this that has been proven to sell and appeal to a more open audience.

I personally think the song's alright, and like you guys it's not what I expected. But I'm going to keep my optimism and say that this isn't going to be the whole album. Though I've seen some features listed for this album prove otherwise, I know there's going to be songs that appeal to his older audience.

that statement doesn't make sense. He is the industry. And it doesn't make sense in this case to "have one single type to keep somewhat of a buzz" when this shit was supposed to drop eons ago.

Correct me where I'm wrong, but who is Dr. Dre in today's music? How is HE the industry? The game has changed in 10 years. Yes, the album was supposed to drop years ago, but why would he drop a single if he isn't even ready to drop it? Apparently he's dropping it "soon," so I see it as he made a song that could be played on various media outlets. That would just be misleading, and I would rather hear nothing than hear one thing and never hear from it again. Certain shit doesn't work nowadays, especially in Dr. Dre's position, where I feel like he let anticipation kill most of his buzz. Consistency and staying current are what make artists in the mainstream industry. I feel like he made this song because it would easily appeal to a new, broader audience.

Tony Lo you make it sound as if Dr. Dre hasn't had his name on anything since Chronic 2001. And "having one single type" and releasing a single are two different things. Of course he's going to release a single!
