Hogg already pretty much knows how I feel.Instead of doing a play by play on the mixtape..Ill just talk about overall and a few specifics....
1. I can respect the concept..however this was a chance for hogg to get more people familiar with who he is,and his talents, and I know he was trying to be nice and look out at times. Its hard not to criticize how the album was put together, but being I know a lil more info then the average listener...Ill come as if I just got the C.D in my hand knowing nothing...
I think the majority of good songs was with Hogg, even though their were other great rappers who spit some good verses,Im a beleiver that not every rapper needs to rap together..Whether the beats didnt compliment the artist or styles clash Id rather see more solo joints, also there is too many different things going on sonically with recordings being either great or lets say low budget sounding...
Stand out cuts are
1.Bossman hogg-(The Movement)..it sounds overall of descent quality, beats pretty good,no features to ruin it..makes a good song to bump.
2.Black mikey-(Freestyle) though I understand the quality isnt the best, but in this circumstance it can be overlooked...this freestyle adds a lil grimmie flavor
3.Young sicc / Bossman hogg/Karma (I dont know)-Beats mediocre but with the hot verses..definatley worth a listen....This is a song I think if it had a better beat (Cricet or Dave Moss)Id like to hear hogg spit his verse and Mitchy Slick, and either Damu or Ecay..It would be a banger...
4.Pa da Boy- (hot freestyle)..beat fits perfect for the flow..love to hear more from him
5.Swifty/Gold mac/Lil B stone -(Get away)- how can you not love that mobb deep instrumental....plus the rappers styles compliment each other.
6.Bossman Hogg-(Out Da gate) beats alright..i just like the verses best .some grimmie south east music...
7.Jack Dee/Yb/Irocc-(Im a Hustler)..Again how can you not love the alchemist beat produced for Eastsidaz.....jack dee and yb and irocc breathe knew life back into the track
8 WOOD LIQUID- One of my favorite joints....probably cause I know wood and hes a character....but not breaking any new ground..a pretty tight diss track wich you can feel the energy...
9. THe KNok (freestyle) a good chance for you all to check the knoc,(how can you not love Phat Sack?)although this song aint on the knok album, but if you feeling them....it will be hear soon...anyways..good cohesion..beats alright.
10.Ecay-Uno (in Da hood) the classic ecay sound...very grimmie overall very great energy..and great storytelling
11.Bossman hogg/ sharon sheri/Phat sak-(That Fiyah)Im loving this song..great beat concept..and hook...bossman comes hot...but I think pHAT SAK came extra heated...wait verse 3 hogg brought some more heat.
12.Stormin Norman...(jab at her) although i feel it couldve been executed a lil better with vocals and beat..but stormin shows you some real grimmie heat...Id bump this..
13. Bossman hogg/J.D./A-nasty (The function) Beats alright hooks alright but the verses are heated..
14.Irocc/Smigg Dirtee/Bossman Hogg- (Get away)-executed the way it should...vocals sound good..beat...and hot verses with concepts one of the best on the mixtape..
15.Domino/sharon sherie/Bossman hogg_ domino cooks up a nice track,,,his vocals are on point..sharons vocals are a lil shakey hear and there..but it could be mixdown....but when shes on point shes on point..definatley talented....Bossman Hogg My Homie......I have to say this is the first verse I heard from you that..let me not sugarcoat it......horrible....maybe cause you cant flip..or not your style...but I know If someone was there to keep it real..you mightve changed it up.....
16.Tommy redding (better days) R@B joint nice..vocals couldve sounded better..but not due to singing....maybe its the mixdown or recording..
well out of 28 songs 16 worth of a good listen..
the view expressed were mine soley and not intended to hurt any feelings, thanks and have a nice day.
