Theyre coo....aint really feelin em too much cuz they dont got that much originality to me....neither Tasty T or Gangsta Nutt got lyrics or delivery that really stand out....and like D said, coulda used better production. But theyre far from wack and I would support em just cuz theyre cats from the town that are doin thangs, and Id want local folks to do the same for me.

Its time more people and more audiences start sharin their stories, and wisdom...and thats what we're rapidly moving towards..i cant even stand watching MTV anymore cuz its either sellout rappers or those "my people are struggling" slash "i gets no respect" type rappers...its boring as fuck, and i cant handle it no more...you CAN please everybody, you just gotta know the right way...
And "street music"? I got no idea what that is...kinda reminds me of Blues music which used to be the "poor man's" music, then it evolved into rock, pop and r&b...who'da thunk it.

Me and my boy JLR were havin a conversation about this a while back...people like u who are "so sick of the same old shit" seem to forget something....all those subjects u just listed are what rap is built on. I dont get why so many people talk about how rap is "the same old boring shit"....but u never hear people say "Im so sick of rock nowadays...its all the same subject" or "Im sick of R&B....its all the same subject". Every music genre has characteristics that define it....and like it or not, all those topics u just listed is what rap is based around....just like R&B is based around love and romance. The foundation of a music genre isnt gonna change and doesnt need to. It isnt the topics of rap that need to change, its the way artists deliver em that need to change. Its the LYRICS that get old, not the topics. What rap needs is more artists who can speak on these subjects in an original, creative way that doesnt sound like theyre still stuck back in 1995. Good example of what I mean....take rappers like Lynch, X-Raided, or Hollow Tip, who are some of the tightest rappers to ever come outta northern Cali: As time went on and the simple-rhyme, raw gangsta style of the early to mid 90s got played out, they changed their style....they still rap on the same shit, but their lyrics and delivery have grown into much more complex and creative music. Thats why I can still listen to their music and feel it after all these years. Then theres rappers like C-Bo, who to me is a failure now because he never got past the same old lyrics hes been spitting since 93. Now THAT is an example of old and played out. If u still dont get it, take myself for instance...Im a young, up and coming artist....my music touches down on subjects that everyone has heard before in rap (CUZ THESE SUBJECTS ARE WHAT RAP IS!)....but I guarentee u my style isn't a style uve heard before...cuz Im original, and my goal in music is to come new and creative. Just my 2 cents

Rapping is slang for talking...and since its so close to talking, its the reason why more people are into it, especially from the artist-angle...it dont matter what subject you're "speaking"/rapping on, as long as you get your point accross, then you've succeeded.
