IMO, No. But has JT's beat 'held up.' I don't get how JT can be even remotely considered a 'great' producer...and the best ever? To the Bay Area scene, sure he's contributed a bunch but to all of hip hop, his contribution has been minimal. JT is better then Dr. Dre? Pete Rock? Kanye? Timberland? Just Blaze? J Dilla? The Neptunes? Etc Etc. Sure the producer I've named won't be liked by every one...but in no way can JT be considered over the producers listed.
The best most complete "PRODUCER" from the Bay Area is Khayree. Khayree is a true musician and not a beat maker. He plays all the instruments right there. The man kills it on the Guitar.
Khayree, K-Lou & E-A-SKI ae the only producer from the bay who are on that level. Im talkin like 20 years experience, hits under there belts and plaques on the wall. You never hear them just given beats to anybody for cash or whatever. They are true producers who stand by the quality of there work and wont allow it to be tainted over a dollar.
