Just listened to the whole cd and thought i'd make some comments....
On the title track off Don Juan's new cd, Juan gives it up to everyone he's worked with Yukmouth, E-40, Mac Dre, QDIII....then says "wassup to Game Related, Vell Bakardy, Holy Temple Bandit." At the end he says "Definately gotta give a shout out to Violet Brown...she definately been lookin out"
I think it's pretty shitty that Juan is talkin about how he's cool with all these people he connected with. With the exception of Mac Dre and maybe E-40, Don Juan wouldn't have worked with Yuk, Tech & Sway, QDIII, etc. if it weren't for Tech. And Violet Brown? How is she helpin Juan? She's the one who picks the albums The Warehouse sells, but again if it weren't for Tech, Don Juan wouldn't know Violet Brown. On with the rest of the cd.
He talks about friends turning into foes on "Sometimes" & "That's Don Juan" Tech N9ne reference? Fuel for "Yada Yada Yada"? ("I'm a friend, if I was a foe, i would be knock knock knock knock knock knockin at your front door")
He says "Drop heated tracks that spread from LA to Japan, and back down to Rap A Lot, me and my man Tech N9ne, respect mine, been doin this for years"
Side note, the song "Cosa Nostra" w/Sole was originally done in 1996. It was unreleased to my knowledge and Juan finally put it out on this album. You can tell it's an old Sole track, she really dont flow like that anymore. Plus he was still callin her Devine which was her name when she was rappin locally in KC.
I'm not sure if all these tracks were recorded before Tech and Juan had their falling out. Never the less, this album just reaffirms the fact that Don Juan can't rap. Dope beats, but a la Ice Cube (No Vasaline) "ayo Juan, stick to producing"
