GB iz my altime favorite rap group so I had 2 make thiz thread.

I remember back in 1989 when I waz 12 yearz old I waz over in the hood chilling & some of the big homiez rolled up o the block in a old school knockin thiz tight azz song. I waz blown away by how tight it waz. Turnz out they were bumping "Assasins" by the Geto Boys. I wasn't really buying tapes back then but I told myself the next tape I waz gonna buy waz gonna be GB.

That summer I went 2 LA 2 visit my fam & saw they're self titled LP @ the swapmeat. I bought it & when I got back 2 my auntz house I put it on & my cousinz almost threw me out the house. LOL!! They couldn't believe what the fuck they were hearing. GB didn't bite their tounges 4 shit & I went crazy over that shit. They brought ultra violence 2 hip hop. I had 2 sneak & listen 2 that tape 4 the rest of the summer. That was my introduction 2 southern hip hop & RAL. I loved N.W.A. but this shit was different. I been hooked ever since.

around 96 when i got into rap
first artists that i heard were spice 1 and geto boys right after it.
i saw that we cant be stopped in my recordstore, and cover got me excited wats it about, give a lil listen, and bought it, soon i purchased more gb albums and scarface and bushwick bill, now later i wonder how long it took til i purchased willie d material, probably because harder to find.
So yes Geto Boys were good introducin into southern rap to me as well. :)

Fuck'em, f-f-f-fuck'em. First track off the black geto boys album blew me away. One of my favorite tracks from then. That album is my favorite album for real

I think the first album I heard was We Can't Be Stopped, though I heard it a long time after it was released, I liked the tracks Fuck a War, Chuckie and Mind Playing Tricks on Me, though the whole album is great.
