Yeah REPRISE was on that bullsh*t but so WAKE UP. That Tech Nina did well but remember it was a double disc meaning each copy sold scans as two discs. So divide that in half and that's how many actual copies he sold. Still good as hell but just wanted to put the facts out.

I don't consider anything he does a flop. You have to understand that he does not appeal to the mainstream. His style is different and the majority do not like it. What did you expect him to do? Record sales across the board are down. He barely sold around 97,000 last time around. T-Pain is one of the most popular artists out and he didn't break 150k.

For the original question, sound scan is released on Wednesday.
You don't consider it a flop? I guess that's why you're not in the record industry cuz 30,000 first week on a major is a flop no matter how you look at it. You think record companies are in the business to lose money? You think they're gonna be like "oh well this album was only meant to sell to the Bay anyway so big up to 40 for selling 30k first week? Highly unlikely. Labels are in it to make money and 30k first week aint makin any money in fact its losing money. You cats have no clue about this industry.

I never said I personally think he flopped as in released a bad album i'm just stating the facts and those are that he UNFORTUNATELY flopped. Yes he sold 95k last time around but what you fail to realize (and what I personally know from working at Warner at the time of his last release) is that Warner underestimated his first week sales and didn't ship as many albums as they should have. If they did his number woulda been even better last time. Its pointless posting anything on here without people who have no clue about the music industry letting you know just how little they know by posting nonsense. I'm done.

PS I'm not hatin cuz i love 40 music and always will. Shit I wish his number where way better but I'm only one man and can only do my part. Everyone has to support our artist in order for them to be successful or they wont be around anymore.

The final number will be 32-35k sales for the week. His last album did 96k with major promotion a movement, a video on mtv 1 mtv 2 bet and jams and a radio song that was everywhere. Ludacriss last album did 350k first week in 06 this week he did 212k kayne did 956k his 1st week on 07 this week he just did 443k. So its all accross the board sales were down. None of you can call a album a flop cuz none of you know how much $ was spent on this record. A flop is a record that is not recouped period. None of you have ever been in 40 shoes period with the deals he has or had none of you are bigger then 40 in the music business so I don't see how any1 could speak on him and think you know his future at warner or any other label in the future. None of you know what's gonna happen with the next single video touring or anything. In a major way did 48k first week and went platinum I know its diffrent times but look at kid rock latest album he went on his 3rd single 30th week on the charts and started selling 100k a week for a while. It just takes 1 big song. My ghetto report card did 96k 1st week then the combonation of everything with u and dat and a 3 month 50 city tour took the album over 500k sales 5 months later. Everybody said ghetto report card was a flop as well. ITS NOT A SPRINT ITS A MARATHON. People been counting 40 out from day 1 and look at him still goin.

i feel the marathon thing, but if u get out the gate slow, it's tough makin' up.

i went to best buy, they didnt even have this shit out in the promotional new release aisle. now that BME wasn't a part of the release, reprise dropped the ball.

no doubt he'll still sell 250k or so when it's all said and done, but after his last cd was such a major success i think we all expected more

this album is dope and hopefully the sales pick up with another single and the label gets on board with some real promo in 2009. we shall see. but everyone should make sure that they support the album, as this album not doing well will effect alot of people, so please be aware that 40 is one of the last ones left representing the indi Bay Culture on a large scale, so we should want to see him, Too Short, Yukmouth, FAB, Quinn, Messy, and more sell units on a large scale, as their success benefits us as well.

just remember another thing 40 has a lot of solid fans that been with him for a long. some over 15 years. they aint youngsta who gonna run to a midnight sale. they gonna cop it at they convenience and they gonna support and they don't care about charts and first week. they just know that they like 40 and they always support. veteran like 40 first week numbers don't matter he gonna sell solid. tell me when to go brought him new fans but they not coming back unless there is another big single and he becomes a fad again. those fans are nice but 40's career is built on his solid fan base.
