I don't consider anything he does a flop. You have to understand that he does not appeal to the mainstream. His style is different and the majority do not like it. What did you expect him to do? Record sales across the board are down. He barely sold around 97,000 last time around. T-Pain is one of the most popular artists out and he didn't break 150k.
For the original question, sound scan is released on Wednesday.
I disagree with part of what you're saying on this one. This album is built to appeal to the mainstream and it's obvious with the list of features. Game, Snoop, T-Pain, Akon, Shawty Lo and Lil Jon. I can say that this is one of the best albums that I've heard this year, but like a lot of people have said, it's almost like a "My Ghetto Report Card #2." I was expecting to see the numbers lower for this one, because with the last one, there was a feeling of curiosity outside of the bay to hear what that "Bay" sound was. With this one, people have already formed their opinions on what they think about Bay music and they're either not going to support it or they are. He'll get his core fanbase to go out and buy it, but as many people in the bay might not believe, a lot of people don't like 40 at all outside of the bay. They kind of laugh at him and think his style is funny. Being from the bay, I have always been and will always be a fan, because for me, only him and Quinn can make music that means more and relates to my life. If I didn't have to worry about the numbers for work, I wouldn't give two shits about what artists sell and neither should anyone else. If you like an artist and the project they put out, go support it and enjoy listening to it, if not, don't. Just my two cents.
