so we give up a young All Star Shortstop who has Omar Vizquel "Defense" for Greg Maddox, who is 40 years old and who hasnt pitched good since April. doesnt make sense.

then we give up Guzman for Julio Lugo! ok, ya i know Lugo can hit 20/20 HR/SB, but is he worth giving up a guy (Guzman) that has the "potential" to be the next Derek Lee offensively?

the Benemit trade, ok i guess we needed a 3B (IFF Izturis, was complaining behind the scenes to management).

maybe the trades will help, maybe they wont. i dont know, all i THINK is that we gave up young talent for AGING OLD MEN who are more than likely just 2 month rentals.

Colletti did a good job signing Furcal and Garciaparra, but he really need to stop with the "Giants" mentality of signing past their peek aging old players that are just a few years away from AARP memberships

izturis is a career .250 hitter with no power and little speed. and look past what maddux may or may not bring on the mound. the knowledge and experience he has will be very helpful to all our pitchers, especially young ones like Billingsley. besides...we aren't even paying anything for him.

guzman was passed by LaRoche at 3B, Ethier in LF, Kemp/Drew in RF, and we have Furcal for the next few years at SS. he had no position and fell out of favor with his bad attitude.

good moves to me...ive been wanting to trade izturis since he came back.

^exactly. Guzman was once considered one of our top prospects but now he wasn't even considered one of the fab 5. Plus I heard Guzman has a poor attitude and was whining and complaining when Matt Kemp was called up before him. I think Maddux will be an improvement, he'll be pitching in a pitchers ball park with good run support.

Rumor has it that the nationals asked for Ethier, Billingsley and Laroche for Soriano. Good thing Colletti didn't make that trade!

werent the same things were said about the 26 year old versions of Omar Vizquel and Ozzie Smith and look where they are heading (HOF).

No1 in MLB baseball has the defense at SS that Izturis has, not even Vizquel at this stage of his career

so you would rather give up our #6 Guzman (according to Baseball America he is our #2) for a slightly above middle of the road player like Lugo than to give up a guy like Billingsly (BA #1), LaRoache (BA#3) , or Eithier (BA#9) who is playing over his head for Soriano, who is a PROVEN OFFENSIVE MACHINE???????????????/

you're crazy if you would do that Soriano trade...especially if he didn't sign an extension
