The Mariners won't have one of the weakest lineups in baseball for long.
Seattle signed third baseman Adrian Beltre to a five-year deal Thursday, ESPN's Peter Gammons is reporting. The addition comes one day after the Mariners agreed to a four-year, $50 million deal with Richie Sexson.
Beltre's former team, the Dodgers, offered him a longer deal but for less money, according to Gammons.
Beltre hit 48 home runs and had 121 RBI while batting .334 for Los Angeles last season.
