i just had a few questions for the people who are interested and pay attention to the whole mid east process...

how do you feel about the expansion of jewish settlements during the "peace talks"?

how should moderate palestinians deal with Hamas and the situation in gaza?

will there be a Palestine in our lifetime?

It is shady as hell

will there be a Palestine in our lifetime?
Formulate a radical alternative that works to solve the problems that are driving people towards islamism - jobs, food, housing, health care, jewish expansion, etc.

will there be a Palestine in our lifetime?
There is a Palestine now, they just don't draw it on western maps. But to answer your question more the way you intended it, yes, but I don't think it will solve any of the problems.

I believe that Palestinians should be given back lands taken from them by Zionist. Not sure if they should recuperate all their lands prior to the UNs resolution that passed in 1947 though. On the other hand I don't see why Jews shouldn't have a right to live in any of the disputed lands.

The whole situation is just fucked. No matter what you do you'll always end up with bloodshed. If you remove the Jews and Zionists from Israel then you'll only have Jewish terrorists attacking Arabs and vice versa if you removed Palestine and Arabs from their territories, which is evident due to the many guerilla attacks upon Jewish bases of military of political power, sometimes even attacking civilians.

Personally, I think most Jews in the region that are promoting the Torah and divine claim that God gave them those lands should re-read their holy scriptures. They have no claims to the lands until their Messiah shows up. But then again, and I hate to sound xenophobic or uncouth but the Extremist Muslims groups need to get out of their midieval thinking and accept some sort of Jewish prescence in the area.

Hamas was elected. Like it or not if we are in favor of democracy their election should be respected. Fata fucked things up by being so corrupt and not being able to provide for the Palestinian people for so long. Hamas has operated for years basically with the approval of the U.S. and Israel so that it would continually undermine Fata and provide grounds for not moving forward with peace. (there are reports that you can read about how Israel was involved in the founding of Hamas) Now that they have some real power it is quite hypocritical to call foul when you’re part of the cause for it happening.

Note the Bush campaign's steady backing away from the Democracy push in the Middle East

Middle Eastern democracy would elect an Osama bin Laden far before a Hamid Kharzai or a secular Arabist leader

coldblooded whats your opinion whats your opinion on the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine?
The PFLP is a good example of the type of groups out there that have been an alternative, but that alternative had always been the most threatening to the U.S. and Israel, thus they, and other groups, have taken more of the brunt of the attack. The result has been that Islamism has risen as alternative for the ever disenfranchised and downtrodden. There became a point for groups like the PFLP where they were just fighting to survive as an organization and couldn’t provide the needed alternative for the people. Groups like Hamas filled that void.

I do support a Palestinian State. I think its about time. Look at all the shit thats going on because of this conflict.

I also want Israel to live in peace with its neighbours and not be so oppresive to the region. I think because of Israel the whole middle east became so Radical/fanatic.

It would be cool if the United States would courage Israel in doing so, instead of going to war with Israels enemies (Iraq, soon Iran).

Not to mention the leaders of all these groups are a bunch of Tony Soprano's, and funds they recieved never trickled down to source's where they could be most used.

definately, the Sunni's and Shia's were best friend before '47, and the Hindu's and Muslim's would no longer fight over Kashmir & would hold hands and sing John Lennon songs if the Israel-Palestinian solution was resolved.

Man this sunni shia thing isnt that much of a big problem. Yea they fight eachother right now in iraq, but when Saddam was around they were cool.

Also: Did u know that The United States and Saudi Arabia financed/trained a sunni group in Lebanon (forgot the name) to fight Hezbollah ?!

And Kashmir aint even in the middle east.
