Do you care about a games story?

Do you guys care about story lines in video games? I see a lot of people complaining about story lines that either they are good or bad and that will sway their decision to buy the game or not.

Me personally I can give a fuck about a storyline. It's like watching a tight ass action movie with a subpar story. You will remember the action not the story. But like some movies, a story will be remembered if it is good.

Any singleplayer game i play has to have some kind of engageing story, otherwise i'll feel like im jus tryin to get to the next stage for nothing.. Thats why i dont like most fighting games or sport games, but i'm really into RPG's and Survival Horror games.

Now, if the games got a dope multiplayer then i'll still cop.. cuz i'am a competitive person.

Certain games (if done right) MAKE YOU care about the story even if you don't normally care about that kind of thing.

Bioshock is a perfect example of this to a lot of people. That game just drags you in and you can't help but want to understand the story

MGS storys R' the best in Gaming. I hate HALO fans that read the HALO books tho....they R' just to anal about the story Line.

i dunno i guess i never really thought about whether the story means a lot to me

in a game with a good story, (MGS, GTA) i will pay attention to it

but in other games the story isnt the main strong point (COD4, killzone 2) but because they are such good games you play them anyway and they are good online

think about it, online multiplayer on COD4 or killzone 2 or gears of war 2 hasnt got a story but because its such a good gameplay experience everyone still plays it

You have to be more specific, some games you don't play for the storyline. If i'm playing an RPG, that shit better have a good story otherwise I'll probably lose interest.
