Seriously, look at all the madness mankind/humanity has caused the planet. Whether you believe in a young Earth or old Earth theory, Bing Bang or Creation by God (or some other deity), you can't deny that we've crippled the planet and each other from the start and haven't been good stewards with what we have.

Why then should humanity be saved? Why then should we make plans to stop global warming or any of the other problems present when the same thing will most likely repeat itself in future generations? Why do we, as a species, need to continue to survive? Do we even deserve it?

That is not a question that makes sense to begin with so there is no point pondering over that
It's a question that offers people the chance to provide a philosophical or moral response, and shed light when it comes to their beliefs. I'm sure those who are religious or have some degree of misanthropy can answer. It's a departure from the cut and paste routine that only garners four replies (one always ridiculing the thread starter), and less than 100 page views.

However, you're mentally impotent in these areas, I wouldn't expect you to understand the question or provide a post outside of your contstant ramblings pertaining to how the ends justify the means.

Please exit stage left or right. This thread isn't for you.

here's a verse from the bible

33And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

34Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Jesus also said something about the children being pure,

imo, as we grow up we learn more of the world and get disgusted, but we have to adapt

dont know if that really answers anything just a thought

LOL, very nice

The question does not make sense because nothing in nature "deserves" anything, things just happen as long as the total entropy of the universe increases. Our ''goal'' as species is to survive and there are no moral rules in the evolutionary survival game, it's anything goes. Since we're actively working towards us going extinct, maybe you can say that we "deserve" to go extinct, but again, in reality this isn't a question that is very much relevant to reality

With this single post you proved what I said about your inability to grasp the question and how you can provide nothing outside of your belief that the ends justify the means.

Stage left or right. Both have signs pointing in their respective directions.

My post was actually the best insight into the question that will ever appear in this thread if people who post in it think like you do

No, the majority of humans don't deserve the life that they have. We slowly destroyed our planet and we destroy everything else in life that shouldn't be taken for granted. Look at the evolution of animals/insects and how they survive, if this planet had no humans and all animals/insects...it'd obviously be in better condition. The sad thing is that most people aren't able to admit that earth is getting torn apart, and even worse we continue to contribute to the problem without trying to solve it. A lot has to do with traditions and how people were raised...everyone has their own agenda and a lot of americans are too lazy to help. Most people just want to continue to live how they live and not worry about the consequences that the future generations will have to pay.

No, look at the way we treat each other, its time to give another species a chance.

Humans may not deserve to be saved, but not trying only proves the point. The only way to make humans deserving of saving is by trying. And trying, not just for the sake of humanity, but selfishly atempting to undo the harm done to the planet for the sake of those living things that do not have the power to undo.

Bing bang ba-da boom! Whose ring you gotta kiss to get humanity saved around here?

No, seriously. Are we talking about getting saved from disaster here on earth or getting saved as in spiritual salvation? I'm not too sure of the word "deserve" either. I mean, for someone to think he or she is deserving of salvation seems a bit puffed up and probably a good indicator that they are not deserving.

those who deserve it yes, those that dont obviously not. this is an individual issue, not one as a whole species

yes we should prevent global warming, globalization, modern day slavery, blah blah blah thas common sense.

Individuals make up humanity and i believe the question in the end is one that should pretain to individuals and their own choices of how to live.

EDIT: i replied while the guy before me was replying.

sorry to say, but u just about never make sense lol. fucc nature, lets look at 'life' which includes nature cuz thas the big picture. if u climb a tree and grab an apple from it, would u say u 'deserved the apple' or not? thas a question in itself thatll erradicatee this paragraph u typed, end of story.

native americans thrived so long because they respected nature n played by the rules, so they 'deserved' to thrive from snow to rainforest respecting and also sometimes contributing to the balance of nature.

the only time 'anything goes' is when one has that mentality. if u learn to respect the earth, it will respect u bacc, thas reality nigga, u livin in a textbook
