I'll give you an example, FRONTLINE.
They don't help support other peoples records sales. When A-Wolf's CD first came out, someone posted it on their forums (which at the time they were always on), and they let the thread stay up and didnt care.
Just because of that, I wont buy a frontline cd. Planned on buying a couple of their first to give to some people out of state, but downloaded after that.

ill say no. they usually get to hear shit for free anyways. how are the supposed to buy beats and promo shit when they spending all they money on music. same reason why most people download music, they have priorities to family, bills, and other shit. and if they do have extra money i doubt a cd is first on the list of wants. i used to buy lots of cds until i moved out and now i got better shit to spend money on like food and bills.
None of the actual rappers support shit. However, Cougnut used to get the new shit and play it all over if it was tight. He did more for new Bay rappers than you could imagine ( I'm sure the only new dude that feels me is Balance, cuz I hipped the Nut Rebel to Balance's shit and Balance is a real dude ), Cougnut used to love to play Balance's shit wherever we went.
Bay Artist support each other alot and most of everyone dont charge each other especially when theyrespect the music, newer artist get charged for vverses until they established but once they are they usually dont.. And I know me and Rich just went and bought Hoodstarz, and I showed up @ federation's instores and bought 4 copies for them all to sign, showed up to Quinn's and did the same thing, 40's instore and did the same thing.. If i know the artist spent money mixing and it sounds like quality im gunna support it.. Everyone should support more and fuck the downloads especially the people that make quality recrds, dont recycle etc, etc i never have cheated the fans from done deal to street cred.. No recycles here and always Quality..
My opinion, 85% of artists out here DON'T Support other Bay Area Rappers, unless they are in their face or they want something from that artist, like a verse, present my album, a beat, a connect, etc. There are too many rappers for the Support to be there, otherwise San Quinn would be selling 40,000 units or more....
I AGREE EVERYBODY RAPS! I cant even go to the grocery store or park with my kids w/o getting a demo or someone asking for my card or if i got a my space and im not even out there like that.. as far as my name or face in hella shit... crazy i can just imagine Puffy or somethin what they must go thru.. bay artist would sell 100k if everybody that rapped bought 1
I feel you Chuck ^^^^ as for me I spend real talk $80.00 to $100.00 a month just on ba area artists good thing about a store like Rasputins is if you don't like the cd you return it with in 8 daz and can trade it in and get bout 75% credit shit last week alone I bought Hoodstars,Indisent and Krypto,Lil Bruce mixtape,and that new J Diggs I always support bay shit give cats a chance even if you return it the artist still make money no harm done,I know how hard it is to make a cd let alone trying to get some one to buy it all yall independent artists keep grinding
