WTF?????

they tryna tell me EVERY major label artist makes a Gangsta Grillz mixtape right before his album drops and THOSE SAME MAJOR LABELS think that's illegal??????

I'm not a big fan of mixtape DJs but that's hypocrisy in its purest form

thats crazy, they are not bootlegs as such they are mixtapes made with the artists consent, often alongside the artist they are promoting! this has to be about more than just music, its fucked up. Other wise there needs to be a law protecting legit mixtape dj's

All it takes is for him to piss off one artist or label and they can bring the laws in on em. As long as they droppin shit when the labels ask its all good and they just wont say nothin even though legally they know its wrong.

its not the artists to give to him..The Label's own the music..
Thank you.

Laws is laws anywhere. They're out to fuck you like a sexual offender just out of lock up.

I actaully like it. Its the rappers who should try to change the right in their contract to own their songs. It'd be easier than changing the govenment.

That's probably it.

I don't get how the cd's are considered "bootleg".
The authorities doing the raid probably don't know much about hip hop, in which case it isn't obvious the difference between a legit mixtape and a bootleg mix....

And the legality of mixtapes is always gonna be on shakey ground, so I can't say I'm too surprised something like this happened....

.
The only thing legit about a mix tape comes through a contract. If you don't have one with the owner of a track, its bootlegging. On the streets its not, but in reality it is.
