Disappointed with Dre Dog/Andre Nickatina - v. concert review

So I went down to San Jose yesterday to check out Andre Nickatina concert.. after listening to non talented opening acts for 2 hours (step your beat game up, holla at STINJ-E), we had to wait 40 mins for nickatina to come out (though they promised it was going to be only 10 mins) while listening to 50 cent and bunch of mainstream music... Nickatina finally comes out and does 4 songs.. half assed too and just bounces..... great way to lose fans nicky

Speaking of concerts, last tech n9ne concert I've went to was off the chain, he interacts with the fans and you can feel the energy, also doesnt leave the stage after 5 songs... more like stays there for 2 hours and gives the fans the run for their money

i feel what ur sayin digital, i was there too and it was bullshit how toons kept sayin "10 more min, 10 more min" then it became over half n hour..the fact that nickatina didn't even get on stage till almost 1am was bullshit too cuz we had to to listen to the weak opening acts (big ups to rob deniro tho, they ripped it), especially having to see gay ass kobe soz tryin to spit and no one really wanting his cd's when he tossed em out ha ha..

dre dog actually stayed and interacted with people tho, but he was in the backroom and if u didnt have the gay ass vip wristband, u couldnt get in there..i hella wanted to say what up to him but i didnt have the wristband, so i couldn't..way to go toons!!

overall the event wasn't that bad, but i guess u get what u pay for when the ticket is $10..

go to a concert venue and not a club venue bro. your lucky to even see crappy acts for that price lol.

That's 2 bad man but I knew that was GOnna happen. I was GOnna GO last nite 2 but I heard the cover was like $30 or so (pre-sale was $20) and I live in Burlingame and I didn't think it'd be worth it 2 drive 4 about an hour (especially with the gas prices. If I lived in SJ or at least closer I may have been there but even still the cover was steep; however, I wasn't surprised. He's been chargin' that much 4 his show(s) lately) just 2 see Nickatina perform a half hour set at like midnite and it's a Sunday nite and I have 2 be at work at 8am (if work wasn't a factor that's a different story I'm just sayin'). If it was in Frisco 4 like $10, $15 (or even $20) I'd be at that 4 sure. I like Nickatina a lot 2 (I'm not dissin' him at all whut-so-ever. He's one of my favorite artists/performers.) but it seems whenever he performs at Toons it's wack (I saw him there once, it was okay but it definitely wasn't his best show). I don't know why/whut it is.

Nickatina usually puts on a good show. Too bad he didn't this time. I find most Bay Area shows to be a waste of my life rather than a good experience. If you wanna see some folks really rock a show check out Zion I and the Grouch, Heiroglyphics, Techn9ne, just about anyone from the WuTang Clan, Devin, Blackalicious, Murs, etc. I recently saw the Cool Kids from Chitown and they tore up the Independent in SF like they owned the City.

Most Bay Area rappers known or unknown can't rock a show and still can't figure out tickets, cd sales and merchandise is a huge profit for good acts.

i went to my last ever nickatina concert here in deygo last year. I got ripped off by him. Now the only shows I will spend $ is Tech N9ne, he really puts on a show and not some bullshit show like Nickatina does

so when nickatina is booked for a bigger show, does he stay n perform longer, or duck out after 20-25 minutes? im not tryna sound like a hater cuz hes an all-time top 5 on my list but it would be nice if he gave the fans more for what they're payin..

You said it, he was only doing a 4 song set. That is not a NICKATINA SHOW. Try an hour or so, that is a show...That sounds like it was for da $$

I've seen Nickatina twice and he puts on one of the best shows ever IMO and just rips it. Usually does a huge set, at least an hour. I would say he is just as dope as Tech N9ne and E-40 in concert. I have seen Tech twice and 40 twice also.
