I tried it with Goldwave and Cool Edit Pro

With CEP, open the music file, and there's an option under "favourites" that says, I think, Remove Vocals.

No, unfortunately there is only one way. Goldwave will do exactly the same. It will only have an effect (whether it be the desired effect or not) if the music is in Stereo form, it takes out one of the 2 lines of audio, and sometimes this removes the vocals as in some recordings the vocals are in one line of audio, the music is in the other. However in some cases it's all mixed up, which is why extracting the Dirty Deeds beat doesn't work.

a guy at work told me to try the acid software. says it works good, but it may be a case by case basis too. i don't know. for the most part, you can find good software shit on kazaa. if anyone has a way for me to get the Reason software, let me know.
