Did you ever thik about what you will tell your kids about drugs, and when?

I was last night for some reason. I dont think id tell them that they are all bad, but they should not use them until they are old enough to tell the difference and know how to make better choices. Then id tell them the reasons why not to use them and then what effect they can have and try to explain addiction (WHICH I KEEP TELLING YAW IS NOT REAL) and how many peole never stop using a drug when they have taken it only once, and it costs tem a lot during their life. Etc.... im just going on to much now. LETS HEAR YOURS:

But i will warn them about addictions, and they get addicted, its otta my hands. WTF am i worring about kids now, it'll be awhile before i have any.

My son is 6 now, but I told him some things about drugs probably about a year ago. I told him that drugs can make you do dumb things and they can mess up your body and make you sick. And I told him that some people spend ALL their money on drugs because the drugs makes them not care about anything else. I told him some other stuff too, but I think you get the idea. I told him because he asked my why drugs are bad. And with my son, I tell him things pretty straightforward, but sometimes I have to exxaggerate (sp?) things just a little bit to make them seem SOOOO TERRIBLE that he might think twice before he does something. I try not to leave room for interpretation, cuzz he's so young, and I don't want to confuse him by making him think that even though drugs are 'bad', it's ok to do them sometimes.

I took the same approach to playing in the balls at Chuck E Cheese. I just said, "Reese, you can't play in the balls cuzz they're dirty. Some of the kids poop & pee & throw up in there. And that's nasty." He just said, "Okay Mommy." And the next time we went to Chuck E Cheese, he said, "Mommy, I can't play in the balls cuzz they're dirty, right?" Oh, and I remember when we were there, some little kid found a pair of pliers in the balls. WTF?

So at least I think I make some kind of sense to him.

i want my kids to be smart and do good in school and get further in life than me.

to do that they will have to stay away from drugs.if they ever get caught doing drugs i'll tell them whut happened to me since i got my moms sickness (schizophrenia) ama tell them you can get it too.

i had a talk with my doctor telling him i feel guilty for doing drugs and that my first doctor said i may have triggered my illness doing drugs.

then he told "ohhhhh nooo" you don't have to feel like that cause all drugs do is make your illness come along faster.with my history of mentall illness in my family i was just going through the motions with sleepless nights.but the drugs made the mental breakdown come faster.i would have been insane anywhere down the line.

i'll tell my kids you never know whut can happen to you becuase of my illness.

it's all in the genes.

in a way i'm kinda sure i can stirr them from doing the things i did, the mistakes i made.

just as long as they are not hard headed i think i can get through to them.

it's a waste of money and confusing to grow into a boy into a man or girl into a woman when you do drugs.

you just digg yourself into ignorance and into a deep hole.they can only hold you back.

when i was about 3 years old i would ask my mom "why?" to evrything. all she ever told me was "just because"


with my kids ill jsut explain it how it is i guess with facts and how i experienced it. ill tell em from as early as they can understand.
ill defintaly tell them that if they ever do use somthing they let me know and they dont make a habbit of it.(ill tell them that when they more mature though..maybe 12) i think half th reason people get hooked is cause all there lives theyve been told drugs are bad wtihout understanding why. and when they try it they say to themselves "shit this isnt so bad... all that shit they said isnt happening to me.. pass me the bud" this is how it was for me. i was smoking weekly... my granfather dies and im smoking daily.... my girl fucks me around and i almost loose my sanity.

^^^Yeah, I never give my son the "just because" answer. I don't want him to grow up & be a damn crackhead & then when I ask him why he started smokin crack, he says "just because." I'm trying to get information to him before someone else does (kids at school, strangers, etc). I want him to be like Bobby Bouchet (sp?) like," Mama says, my mama says... M-m-mama says, my mama says...." LOL!!!!!

So far, my son 'knows' about drugs, cigarettes, beer, and McDonald's. :classic:

You know, I just told him that if you eat too much McDonald's you'll get fat. And he just accepts that.

On a different note, what the fuck is up with that lawsuit against McDonald's where those people were suing cuzz they said they didn't know if you ate McDonald's everyday you'd get fat? WWWWTTTTFFFF????
