Is it simply someone whos nice to you that you see more than just at work/school? Or is it more personal?

It may sound stupid, but i know lots of people who apply the term "friend" very differently.

well there are different kinds of friends. There are people at work that are cool and you somtimes chill with them out of work. There is also people you knew from school that are just hi and by friends. Then you have your people. The homies that have known you since elemenatry school and have been down for you ever since.

ill break it down for you here and now. some people confuse the terms "friend" and "associate"

basically it all boils down to this.

an associate shares INTERESTS with you, while a friend shares the same VALUES as you.
