Sounds like he's going to be an S1 clerk (an 0100). Good shit. Some of my tightest homies went to Oh-One school at Pendleton. Travel limitations should be moderate to strict (while in school) but most Cali natives bail on weekends anyway. Driving down and hooking up with him should not be too much of an issue. Lot's of students hang in Oceanside. You could meet him there.

As far as bringing his son with him, if he has legal custody of him, it should not be a problem. He'll get extra pay and base housing verses a room in the barracks.

That's what day-care and the perdiem are for Toop'.

Being an S1 (basically your civilian HR) clerk and working in disbursing (accounting) is like working for the IRS. You're privy to all sorts of knowledge that the average joe doesn't know or doesn't realize that he knows. Plus all your workmates are in working in other cool departments.

S1 homies have/had:

  • Got me my checks when I was told I could't get one for days.
Created my fake ID when I was only 19.
Pushed my leave papers/request through the system at speeds normally reserved for officers.
Not docked my leave totals and thus gave me more vacation time on the books and more days to sell back when it was time to go.
And lots of other misc. shit that only someone "on the inside" can do.

Your cousin's in good shape.

right,

maybe when we (cousin and i) get to chop it up a lil we could get an understanding of things how they're going.he might have sum thoughts on the whole deal we could talk about.

my brother has a homie doing the same thing right now in the national guard.i was thinking those two should meet and talk.i'll tell my cousin about it too.
