Any suggestions? I really don't want to spend more than 100 bucks though, they don't have to be that fancy

I was thinking about buying some also.

What do you guys recommend for producing? I don't want to spend more than $100 also.

Those Sony MDR-7506's seem really nice, but are these good for producing?

I'm using Sony MDR-V150's at the moment. LOL

What do you mean are they good for producing? IMHO, headphones simply provide you with privacy and are needed for certain types of tracking (like vocals.) Do they sound good? Yes.

I have three pairs and those are the ones I actually use when I make beats. They sound totally different from the 7506's and the difference is night and day.

I'm talking about just making beats, no vocals. So you actually use the MDA-V150's for making beats? I would think the MDA-7506's would be better. Why don't you use those for making beats? Isn't the sound more crisper & bass?

I mean I like these MDA-V150's and the way they sound, but the reason I laughed is that they only cost like $20 bucks or so. I would think that's a hella basic set of headphones and probably weak for making beats.

And nah I don't have no $ for studio monitors, nor the environment to use them in so monitors are basically useless. That's why I use headphones.

No, I don't trip off the sound of headphones that much. One of the reasons I don't trip is because no matter what it sounds like through the phones its gonna sound different through the monitors. To tell you the truth I don't even know why I don't use the 7506's when making music. I use them when I reference mixes through thr 002r headphone out and when playing back through receivers. The 7506's do sound better, but both hold up well when it comes to durability, and if you constantly have a lot of people coming through you need something sturdy. If you have $150 for headphones you can get a pair of monitors. You may not be able to go active, but you can go passive, but another 100 or so is needed for an amp. If the environment were not a factor I would suggest saving your chips. Since it is a factor snatch the 7506's after you've auditioned several different types of earphones at guitar center or wherever it is you plan on purchasing from.

BTW, what are you using for an interface?

I ain't using no external hardware interface or anything. I make beats with and only my computer + "usb" midi keyboard of course. So the headphone jack is going str8 into my computer's soundcard. Pretty simplistic, just a hobby. I just want to see if a better "sounding" headphone is out there that's good for making beats, better than these MDR-V150's, I'm sure there's of course. I know it'll sound different once it hits the home/car system or monitors, but I just want something decent I guess that'll come close to emulating the sound of monitors or stereo field environment. For example, if the bass sounds like it hits nicely in the headphones, then I'll assume it will hit nicely also in bigger speakers,etc...
