HIM AND CHAMP BAILEY AND TY LAW...
No...according to him...it's just him. Did you listen to the interview?

"22 years old, prince of the city...best corner in the game...period"!

"Best corner alive since the old 21 retired".

Dude's being extremely cocky...he hasn't even been in the league very long.

Pittsburgh doesnt have the best cornerbacks in the game...but Ike Taylor, Ricardo Colclough, Bryant McFadden, etc. aren't any jokes either. Ike Taylor led the NFL in passes defended and he's a fucking amazing run-blocker.

What I will give DeAngelo Hall is that he is the fastest man in the NFL.

But there's no way he's the best cornerback.

Did anybody see Kellen Winslow's comments - "I just don't think that there is anyone else out there who is better than me." Oooookay buddy, why don't you play your first game in three seasons before you go out making comments like that, you fuckin soldier, you.'

But Hall is better than Champ Bailey on deep passes. Bailey is a great CB, but there are crucial parts of the game that he sucks on.

I think Deltha O'neill is underrated as fuck.

Deltha is deep. But in my opinion I would have to take D. Hall or Ashante Samuels (Patroits, he can hit like a MF). D. Hall has gotten the respect because he's good..... that's why Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson are talking trash about him because they know how good he is and they can't wait to play against him. The best brings out the best.

I think you have to be sort of cocky at any position you play...but to come out and say you're the best since Deion...that's just too much. And the prince of the city comment was just lame.

He shouldn't even be talking about the Steelers...they won the Superbowl. It just looks retarded.

That's not what he said...but I agree. If you actually saw the interview though...it wasn't in a cocky manner. He also said that he's "all hype", and "tired of hearing about my potential". And that he wants to get on the field and prove what he can do.

You can't just look at a quote and say hey...he's looking like an asshole again.

Haha sorry I just hated that guy before he ever became a brown. But yeah...shouldn't have taken it out of context.

Either way though...his argument was that there is not another TE in the NFL that is better than him. And as far as I'm concerned, him not playing for two years doesn't give him the right to make comments like that when Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzales are doing their thing.

Don't get me wrong, even after two years, I expect him to be amazing. But to come back from two separate injuries and make that kind of comment...I dunno...you'd just think that after everything that's happened to him, he'd grow up and be a little more humble.

I may be wrong...but I assume you hated the guy because of the "soldier" comment. Seems like just about everyone didn't like him because of that.

And while it did seem dumb at the time...it showed how competitive he is. Just about every professional athlete compares their sport to war. How many times have you heard someone say "time to go to war". Football players call themselves soldiers all the time. The only difference is he blew up on camera.

I agree with you though...he shouldn't have made the comment about him being the best TE in the league. But...I guess he fits in with all of these other guys.

Nope, you're right haha. He's a hell of an athlete and I'd love to have him on my team...but I just dont like his character.

And I know what its like to have that passion. I respect him as a competitor. As a Browns fan you probably love having a player like him, cuz being around him will make your other players elevate their desire to win.

My dad is a football coach and I've heard that "we're going to war" speech so many times throughout the years. But if you go up to a soldier and compare that war in Iraq to football they'll probably smack you right in the face.

See...and that's what I don't understand. How can you judge the character of a man you don't know? You see a blow up here...a bad comment there...but that doesn't tell you who the man is.

All you see is what the media wants you to see...and I just can't judge a person off of that.

It's like T.O., everybody hates that guy. But my friend knows him personally...and says that he is NOTHING like what you see on TV. He's quiet...reserved. It's like an on-air persona...totally different from real life.

Yes, I love it. It's what we've been missing since we came back. You guys have that kind of player in Porter, Baltimore with Lewis, and the Bengals with Johnson.

As much as I don't like the ego-thing...you have to have that kind of player I guess.

But if you go up to a soldier and compare that war in Iraq to football they'll probably smack you right in the face.
Yes...and for good reason. But at least you see what I was getting at.

I think deangelo isn't the best in the league, but he will be. he shuts people down and doesn't make too many mistakes....and you gotta remember, this is only gonna be his 3rd (or 4th, I forget) season
