Police have arrested a 19-year-old Daytona Beach man for allegedly pulling a gun on a young couple sleeping in a park and then raping the man in his girlfriend's car.
Lorue Lopaz Frankline was held without bond on charges of armed carjacking, armed kidnapping, armed sexual batery and armed robbery.
Police said Frankline, wearing a T-shirt over the lower half of his face, woke up a 23-year-old woman and 27-year-old man asleep in the park early Tuesday.
Armed with a handgun, Frankline demanded the car keys, rifled through the woman's pockets and forced the man into the 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass, police said.
Authorities said Frankline tied the man's wrists with rope and blindfolded him, and drove off with him lying in the back seat. The woman ran from the park, flagged down a city worker nearby and asked him to call police.
The victim told police that Frankline sodomized him in the back seat. He said Frankline put a gun to his head, took his identification card and told him he'd kill him and his family if he reported the crime. The victim, who was also gagged, told police he convinced Frankline to stop the assault by faking a heart attack.
Investigators located the blue car when it stalled about an hour after the kidnapping. Frankline jumped out of the car and police arrested him after chasing him for a few blocks. The male victim was examined at a rape crisis center.
Police declined to release the identity of the couple, who had been dating for a week
