...and sign with the Clippers, to be closer to his grandma

After weeks of informal conversations, Baron Davis' agent, Todd Ramasar, met with Warriors officials Thursday to discuss a potential contract extension for his client. But the talks failed to provide any satisfaction for Davis, a two-time All-Star who just turned 29.

he cant just opt out is what folks might not understand, i dont think theres any team that could pick up his 17 mil contract for next season. It would have to be a sign and trade or something like that. someone correct me if im wrong

I think he can option out of his contract and void the last year of it, becuase its probably a player option, not a team option. if he opts out he will lose 17 million next season and will try to regain that money in free agency which i think he wont find. especially with these young point guards coming into the league. and can you imagine baron on the clippers? i cant.

I don't see Baron leaving a team that is a contender, to go to a team that is historically worse than (insert anything bad in the history of Earth here), especially at his age. But who knows.

its smoke with no fire! knbr had a segment on today about this. baron will get his 18 mil next year and sign a 3 yr deal worth 12 apiece. with a bonus heavy contract which could turn into 2 more years for a total of 5. baron will be warrior til he retires.

i personally think injuries will force baron to retire not his own decision.

most likely there will be no sign and trade if he opts out he would be a unrestricted free agent meanning he can sign with anybody for anyamount of money he takes(which could be less then the 17 hes due to make with gs this season)...
