Any successful musician knows if he is to continue perfecting his craft, he must respect other musicians. This is not to say he must like all music, but he should learn to appreciate the talent that others can offer.
In the hip hop music world, that sentiment is no different. There is quality and then there is, for lack of a better word, junk. Those who find quality music do best to embrace it, find a mutual connection, and share it with the world.
One such hip hop artist who has done this is Roscoe Umali. This artist out of Southern California, while recognized as "the freshest filipino", possessing the trifecta definition of a hip hop artist -- a story teller, a battler, and an emcee -- is one who recognizes that humility is not a lost art in the music world. He has since released two albums called "I Love My DJs", volume one and volume two. Both are available at Amazon and other music retailers.
In the Tacoma area, there is another hip hop artist with a similar pursuit. Darxiide prides themselves in being connected to the hip hop community in the Tacoma area. In addition to their upcoming performance at the Viaduct (5412 S. Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA) with Doughkain, Josh Rizeberg, Golden Brown Entertainment, Business as Usual, Whikid, and Marcel Jones; Darxiide is compiling a new album to represent northwest hip hop artists.
