Dana White released several tidbits about big upcoming fights in UFC at the post-UFC 73 press conference yesterday.
- Anderson Silva and Rich Franklin look set to have their second fight for the UFC Middleweight Title on 10/20 in Cincinatti, Ohio, which just happens to be Franklin's hometown. Franklin was to meet the winner of Silva vs. Marquardt from UFC 73, which turned out to be Silva, so their fight appears to be a lock for October.
- BJ Penn will remain in UFC's lightweight division and will challenge Sean Sherk for the UFC Lightweight Title around November.
- If Mirko Cro Cop defeats Cheick Kongo at UFC 75, it will set up one of the biggest fights of the calendar later this year: Mirko vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, two of the former PRIDE giants battling in the octagon.
- In a separate interview with the Gainesville Sun, White revealed that Maurico Rua will make his UFC debut at UFC 76 against the unbeaten Brazilian sensation, Ryoto "LYOTO" Machida, who is 10-0 at present.
