Saddam Hussein gives a rare TV interview to US journalist Dan Rather

Just wanted to know everyone's opinions on this interview...

One thing I found interesting is that Saddam Hussein tried 12 years ago to have a open talk with Bush senior and Bush rejected, now he is trying again to have a open discussion with Bush junior. Of course, Bush has rejected any straight talk. I am just curious why Bush is afraid to talk to Saddam Hussein. God forbid we solve anything peacefully through dialog...

bush is a pussy.

last year, at a UN summit meeting in mexcio.
the bush adminstration ask the mexican govern't to ask
fidel castro to leave early...becuase the bush administration
didn't want dubaya and castro in the same room.

the mexican govern't denied this, but castro proved them wrong....but
it fuck the good relationship between the two countries.

goign off topic......
in Venuezala, their president, has his own tv show
that airs once a week. Ppl call in, and ask questions, and anything
goes. from extreme right wing comments to far leftist comments.
LEts see bush do that in this country.

fuckers, didn't even let Nader in the 2000 presedently debates.
they raised the standards so he couldnt be on it..

saddam wants to have a debate with bush and the white house's response was we dont take this seriously. aka we aint gonna talk.
now think back what did every adult tell u as a kid to do when you are pissed and having problems?

Talk it out instead of using fists.

here we have the oppesite. bush is trying to be a mindless bully and use force over common sence or diplomacy. guess he never arned to share and play nice with others in the sand box. maybe because he went to an elitist school and was digging in the dirt with a gold shovel.

LOL, letting nadar in would only have helped George W. Bush win the election by a wider margin. so it is hard to believe he would have wanted nadar out.

1. mindless bully--> he has done many things tyo avoid a war and had given Sadam hussien many chances to disarm. resloution 1441 has been in effect for aourn 6 months and iraq has only disarmed 6 small empty chemical warheads (and those 6 warheads would have been destroyed had our military not been in Kuwait waiting for the order to go in)! doesnt look like the disarmament procedure is working.

2. common sense--> i think he is using common sense. common sense says that if Sadam has not disarmed in the past 12 years and 16 resolutions, he wont disarm now. (well maybe if we say please he might).

3. diplomacy--> 12 YEARS AND 17 U.N. RESOLUTIONS worth of diplomacy has gotten us nowhere. there is a time when one must realize diplomacy wont work with some1 who doesnt intend to disarm

1. CBS and dan rather did the interview with Sadam hussien.

2. ransey clark (a true anti-american) suggested to sadam to do an interview with Rather (i wonder why he chose rather).

3. CBS left iraq with the tape in the hands of Sadam hussien for editing and translating (i wonder what he edited out).

point is Sadam can SAY nothing that will change my mind. he can only DO something to make me believe war is unaviodable.

Sadaam's request is perfectly reasonable, but being that our president has the I.Q. of a salad fork, he is too scared to debate in a public forum with this man. Plus Sadaam would probably reveal a lot of true shit that the government has been trying to hide for years and I think they'd prefer Americans to be bumbling idiots who will believe whatever is told to them by those in power, rather then (God forbid!) put us in the predicament of thinking for ourselves.

They like us to be dummies.

first of all Sadam is in no position to request anything

ok now you are exagerating. he did go to Yale. i know alote of people like to forget that. i am not saying he is the brightest president we have had (because he isnt) but he isnt as stupid as you make him out to be. remember Reagan was considered to be stupid, yet he will go down as one of the best presidents that we have ever had.

LOL come on next your going to tell us that Sadam is an Angel and that we are the Devil

true, but with a certain number of votes, the green party could
have gotten funds from the govern't, i think it around 15% of
the votes....but how is the green party going to get that much
votes?! without media support and corporate funding them, like
they do to the slutty democratics and republicians.

yeah well those same millions of people didn't feel so hot about him after his last term was over... As Eddy Murphy once said "Fuck Reganomics"
he will still go down as one of the best presidents ever. and also of the most liked presidents ever.
