As many of yall know i fuck with Cali real tough, SD in particular. And out here on the east, i frequent a lot of music conventions and get togethers with DJ and industry folks.

Yesterday I was at a convention, and The West was a topic brought up. I spoke on the amount of talent Dago has and so many of the people there were not even familiar with the city at all. The number one name that came up was Jayo Felony!!! This blew my mind. Dont get me wrong, I like Jayo's music but what has he put out recently?? and the sad part is, he's still the name people bring up.

But me being me, I had copies of Messy Slick, and a few other albums on hand, as well as mixes i made, to distribute to the people. Some people had never heard of Mitchy, Ecay, Googie, Lunch Meat, etc. Mainly a lot of the southern cats.

But ive been getting feedback and they seem to be loving the music!! and one DJ from Tennessee, called me and admitted that he was wrong for sleepin on Dago!!!

With the right push, Dago will be on the map next!!!!

Yeah, a lot of southern DJ's seemed like theyve been under rocks. HAHA. Dont get me wrong many knew who he was but they werent familiar with the music in depth, ya know. but out of all of them, Mitch and Jayo were the most noted. but hopefully by getting the CD's out to them it wakes some of them up!!

PS
Coop, you know I had my Siccness T Shirt on!!!!!!!!!!!

You better not have had the bottom of the shirt tucked up and through the neck of it..hahaha....beads....Them Celtics...thats another subject..Anyways Im glad you brought this up because it was very constructive and a reality check. Why would anyone outside dago hear of an artist if them or their music has not been out of town...so this is proof that you cant just have a hot c.d in hand ..or just at Fam Bam or Sicc shop or Rap..or..ya know the rest. So ya gotta respect Mitchy for getting off his ass and staying active with it. Beads you can talk to most people on the streets in L.A. and most aint heard S.D artists besides Jayo and Mitch. I know you help alot of artists beads..and an observation I am making is..are you putting effort in spreading info on artists from dago..L.A...on the East Coast and these artists are not even promoting 2 hours away from where they live?

Good fucking point but isnt that the job of a promoter? Like you always say its a double edge sword imo but i agree with you more than less.

I agree with that 50. and i agree with Coop, it is my job as a promoter, even if 90% of the time its unpaid promotions. But i spread the music and shit, because I feel like some of these cats can make it out here, ya know. But i also feel like im wasting my time sometimes, because like you said some of these cats arent even known in their own backyards.
And i always would rather supply the people with quality music as opposed to the 50 Soulja Boy wannabe's that the dj's were supplying.

This doesn't really apply to many if any but its a thought I've had...

What about an artists who is on a small label...shit even a big label and the label pays for everything....then the album comes out..maybe it does not do as well as they hoped, and the first thing they say is...the label didn't give me the promotion in which it deserved..and they may be right...but in the end why leave your career..your livelihood in someones hand? If the label sent ya on the road..couldnt you take a few of your dollars and have your own promotional material to hand out...or schedule a few more shows..or what not....Im sure the label may even help share the costs...This is just a small thought but maybe you may see that invest in your own stock...treat your stock like any big sucessful business...
