to all the dago artists:

i was talking about this shit in the "dago II germany" thread...
the first thing to do in order to open up the european market for you folks is to create awareness for your product. i mean, you have a dedicated following of hardcore fans (like the ones who post on this board). and as far as i am concerned it could stay like that, cause as soon as the masses get hip to some shit it often gets destroyed.
but on the other hand i would love to see your talent shine and see people bounce to some dope underground shit like all of the shit comin outta dago right now.

so it's up to us fans to do our part in promoting your music. nima is doing his thang with the website, doing dope interviews and coverage like that. and i would love to put your shit up on one of the mixtapes that me and my boy DJ SQ6 are putting out. but for that i need that dago shit on vinyl.
so do y'all only put out cds or is there some promotional vinyl floating around that i'm not aware of??
holla at me!!

and before you trip and tell me that putting songs on mixtapes is bootlegging.... it's also one of the best ways to break new artists. at least here in germany the mixtape scene is quite vibrant and heads who normally only bump new york or true school shit (because there hardly is anything else around) could be exposed to new sounds that way. alotta people hear new shit on a mixtape and when they like that shit, they wanna buy it.

holla!

true dat!
but i don't know if the quality of the sound (i mean scratching and other turntable tricks) is the same.

apart from that it is important that a track comes out as a single (12" or CD single) in the first place so you have an instrumental and maybe an acapella to do remixes. if there's no 12" there most probably is no cd single either...
