sucks to be a marlin fan...if theres any fans out there. 2 world series rings in 10 years and this is the respect the marlin organization gets from the citizens of florida? Imagine how great this team would of been if they actually had decent crowd attendance. possibly as good as the yanks? will never know.

Lets name them off

Edgar Renteria
Gary Sheffield
Jaun Pierre
Carlos Delgado
Derek Lowe
Josh Beckett
Luis Castillo

next
Dontrelle Willis
Miguel Cabrera

Apr 14 Florida Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria has called several media reports speculating the possible trades of 3B Miguel Cabrera and SP Dontrelle Willis before the July deadline as "irresponsible," according to Joe Frisaro of Florida.Marlins.MLB.com. Willis is making $4.35 million this season, while Cabrera is earning $472,000. Cabrera will be in line to earn as much as $7 million next season, after he becomes eligible for arbitration. Both players are under contract through the 2009 season, when they would become eligible for free agency.

The article you posted implies that the Marlins are NOT getting rid of Cabrera and Willis.
yup - owner said it was "irresponsible"

though if they were traded, sure wouldn't surprise me considering he's gonna have to break the bank for cabrera after getting him for nothing this year.

Because they can hold on to them for a while and probably make a championship run... By the time Cabrera and Willis are in their last years, they will have a very strong team with those two as the core... They have a lot of good young players right now who are going to be productive major league players very soon...

^they aren't gonna win a championship. i would trade them for a bunch of prospects and start all over again. i rather do that then knowing lose them to free agency for nothing.
