If you don't have an external midi box hooked up to your computer, you're gonna have to get a cable that has male-to-male joystick to midi and hook it up to your soundcard's joystick/midi serial port. From there, just go to the midi settings in cubase and enable input from your soundcard and you're set.

Hey if I get a external midi box, do I have to get a different soundcard on my computer to hook it to the computer or will it work with the normal soundcard that comes with the computer? I got a keyboard and a drum machine, but ain't postive how to hook um to the computer...holla at me...

If the external midi box has a usb output, then just hook that up to your computer and install the drivers and you're good.
